Not been watching much Olympics, although a friend said women's pole vault and volleyball were worth watching - alas I'm an internet addict. But one particular personage I have been following is this little guy. I thought he'd win - spurred as much by patriotism as cold logic - but I reckon he can go all the way!

The women's pole vault was excellent!
That Russian woman who went over three times in a row set a world record, and definitely impressed me with her grace and ...er...form.

Gone are the days when Russian female atheletes looked like a cross between a gorilla and Danny Devito. I think they pick them for their looks now. (Or maybe this is what they look like without all that horse testosterone.)

I think they look anorectic, you kind of wonder if their arms will fall off. but I guess that build is one way to advantage in the sports the russian women are best at, high jump pole vault, middle distance running.
BTW russians??? It was female swimmers from DDR that was famous for "the missing link"-look complete with beard.
Amir Khan only got a silver medal against a really experienced cuban, but the final was really great. I hope he doesn´t turn pro. I want to see him take a gold in the next Olympics, no doubt he will be the best in the world then.
But Kelly Holmes took two golds both the 800m and the 1500m, that impressed me, so UK got at least one goldmedal-winner. I think she deserved it too, being kind off the "eternal secondbest".
Anyway was british the queen in Athens watching the games?:-)
Our king was there, with a camcorder. :-)
