Title: Getting Cybervision64 to work with Picasso96 on OS39 BB2
Post by: dnelsonfl on August 20, 2004, 07:02:39 PM
System is an A3000D with OS39 BB2. I'm trying to get a Cybervision64 to work with Picasso96. The Cybervision has 4MB VRAM onboard. The monitor is a Sony SDM-X73 (TFT LCD) horizontal scan rates 28-80khz for analog RGB. Amiga 31khz video out goes into the Cybervision's input jack and the Cybervision's output jack goes to the monitor. Works fine like this (pass-through). What happens so far...

Installing Picasso96, I chose the 64khz horizontal scan rate because I thought the instructions were telling me to choose the highest supported. After it finishes copying files here and there, I rebooted and went to use Picasso96Mode to attach to my board and verify which settings are available. It disabled quite a few because obviously with only 4MB it doesn't have enough RAM to do 1280x1024 in true color, for example. I saved and rebooted. I then went to ScreenMode preferences. Sure enough quite a few CyberVision modes show up. So far, so good, right?

If I choose any of the CyberVision modes and click "TEST" the mouse becomes the watch "wait" icon and jumps to the left and about the middle of the screen. And it sits there. And it stays like that. I dare not click Save and make it permanent if it doesn't even Test okay.

I used CheckBoard utility that came with Picasso96 and it finds the board and brings a black screen to the front for 2 seconds. It doesn't mention any errors.

So what is going on, and how do I resolve this?

I also tried CyberGraphx3 BTW and it gave me a black screen on boot. Don't worry, I reformatted and reinstalled OS39 up to BB2 after playing with it.
