Title: CPU libraries and WinUAE...
Post by: AmiKit on August 18, 2004, 11:51:03 PM
Hi there,

I have a (maybe stupid) question...
Long time ago, when I was using Phase5's 040 accelerator, I was using their 68040.library, later I moved to Thomas Richters's MMU libraries. Now, I am using WinUAE and those MMU libraries remains in my system. I think they are not useful anymore because WinUAE doesn't support MMU (as far as I know) and I don't use special MMU version of SetPatch to load these MMU libraries at startup neither. So I decided to completely delete MMULib from my WinUAE system. Then I noticed, that AmiStart doesn't want to start! As soon as I put the MMU libraries back, Amistart worked again. Strange... nevermind...

Anyway, are there any REGULAR CPU libraries which operating system (OS3.9) load during the startup through the SetPatch (v44.38)? Do I need some 68040.library when I use 040 emulation of WinUAE? Or do I need any of 680x0 libraries in my LIBS: ?

Thank you!

Hum,
just to be sure just rename the original Phase5's 040 libraries and copy all the original/standard Amiga OS 040 libraries, (and standard SetPatch on the os3.9 CD)

WinUAE just emulates a `standard` 040 processor ...
