Boy, I wish I had read more threads on this board and found out what a joker BoingBoss, aka DoomMaster is. Had I known I wouldn't have blindly sent him a Postal MO for 16 bucks to buy a set of WB2.1 disks from him. Oh well, maybe he will donate the money to NASA to go to Mars, along with the procedes from his movie.

And you haven't received the disks then?

Why he is allowed to remain here and "contribute" is utterly beyond me...

It's been around 3 weeks, even with USPS I should've gotten them by now.

Boing Boss, I say BOING BOSS!!!!!!!!
Where are Ed's disks? He's waiting for them, and he's paid for them. So where are they? Let's hear your side of the story.
-
Baah!
Never trust people from Beaverton, I say! They're just a bunch of unreliable call-centre slobs! :-D

He was banned when he was DoomMaster, he left for a while, but as Amiga.org can't ban people by IP (I think they can't anyway) he's now back under a different name.
Knowing what he's like, even if they ban him again he'll just come back and cause more bother.
-
Don't I feel stupid - double post :-P
:lol:

OT:
Vince, who's that in your avatar? It looks like a very evil Jamie Oliver.

It seems a little unfair to slate BoingBoss here without him at least having the opportunity to present his side of the case first.
Let's see if he responds to this thread shall we?

Soooo....that's what his background is.
Hmmm....
:insane:

Given the title of this thread, we have no reason to expect DoomMaster to even read it...

It is very risky buying from anyone on the net, ebay or not. I used to enjoy some real good deals, with some real descent people buying classic Amiga stuff. Amiga users seemed to be quite honest as a whole, and the first time I was ripped off was the first time I purchased a non-Amiga product from an ebay auction for an Intel CPU.
The myth was shattered by the last couple of ebay Amiga purchases I made (nothing arrived, buyer drops off planet, etc). Amigans are having their reputations tarnished along with everyone else.
It is sad a way, but that's my own risk I took, and am not bitter about it. I think I might only consider established online stores in future. Or possibly veteran amiga.org members that have been around a while, and not recieved threads like this...

:lol: It's Richard D. James, aka Aphex Twin, aka Polygon Windows, aka AFX :-D
Back ot.
I don't think BoingBoss would actually reply anyways, no matter what the title of the thread is. He probably only reads threads that have A2000 in the title somewhere ;-)
-
Not necesarily, the A1500 came with WB 2 and was one of the rare professional Amigas that NASA used to program pong into Apollo XIII's computer system ...
3 weeks would be enough time to get something accross the atlantic, have you managed to email/PM him and confim the MO arrived OK?
-
Historically speaking, we have banned him about every two weeks, when his ISP gives him a new IP address to avoid the ban. The only other option -- which may be used -- is to simply ban his entire ISP range, which hurts several of our regular users.

I would start a new thread with his name on it and he may respond. Or a PM, but he is not the best to reply. From his eBay feedback, he is known to take his sweet time to send stuff off, but he does deliver the goods. You could always drive down to Beaverton, OR and smash down his door and kick his arse! LOL, thats what he does...See his resent post (http://www.amiga.org/forums/showthread.php?t=10948) on that. lol
-
To be honest, I quite like Doomy, he brings a certain je ne sais quoi to the forums :-D
But I do hope he sends those disks out, if not he will go down in my estimation. I kinda thought he'd been sensible recently, after that last debacle a few months back. C'mon Doomy, send the disks :-)
-
I dont think he will post in here at all. He had done this in the past to other as well.
-
I can't be absolutely sure about this, but there's someone selling Amiga stuff on eBay going by the name of 'SpencerAnne'. He/she/it? sends A2000-type stuff (DRAM chips, A2091s, etc.) from Oregon (can't remember if it was out of Beaverton or not but sounds familiar). Anyway, lots of bad feedback on eBay and I must say this person is not good at communication or delivery. I think it might be the same person as 'Doomy'. So buyer beware.
btw, you can get 'brand new' C=2.1 disks from Mr. Hardware for $20.00, for what it's worth.
-
Yeah I see those every so often, it's funny to me, but could hurt people who don't know better. Can't get rid of him though, like a {bleep}roach.
-
@Argus
Yes Spenceranne is Doomy. I bought a A600 from him. Not sure if that is his wife or mom, or him? lol He does come through but can take a while to send stuff off from what I hear. I would not worry about him ripping you off. I would try calling him if I was the buyer and could not get a hold of him. You can get the contact info from eBay.
-
Hi Ed King,
I am very sorry that I have not mailed you your WB2.1 disks yet. I will ship them soon. A very good friend of mine is in the hospital and may die soon. So I have spent a lot of time there. Once again, I am sorry for the delay in shipping out your disks.
-
Hi B00tDisk,
Why he is allowed to remain here and "contribute" is utterly beyond me...
Because I have a lot to "contribute" to Amiga Org. :-D
-
Hi bloodline,
Given the title of this thread, we have no reason to expect DoomMaster to even read it...
Well, I have read it. :-D
-

Not true. Even though the Amiga 2000 Series is my favorite of the Amiga models, I actually love all Amiga computers. :-D
-
Hi Wayne,
The only other option -- which may be used -- is to simply ban his entire ISP range, which hurts several of our regular users.
That will not be necessary Wayne. I am actually trying to fit in here at Amiga Org. I like most of you guys and would like to stay, only if that's ok with you Wayne. :-D
-
Hi Cyberus,
To be honest, I quite like Doomy, he brings a certain je ne sais quoi to the forums
Gee thanks. :-P
C'mon Doomy, send the disks
I will. :-D
-
Hi Argus,
I always ship people their stuff. Sometimes it takes a while because I usually wait until I have at least ten (10) packages to ship before driving to the Post Office. But people always get their stuff. I may be a butthole sometimes (for a goof), but I do try to always be an honest person. :-D

Go to hell.

@B00tdisk
Now that was uncalled for! :inquisitive:
-
@whabang
But damn it was funny though! Funniest thing I have read all week. :lol: :lol:
Probably still a little uncalled for though.

@TjLaZer
Sorry, my intent is not to flame Doomy, BoingBoss or Spenceranne, just to explain that their??? m.o. is to receive your postal money order and then to wait....interminably it seemed to me....without any emails or contact.....until one magical day....three or four (or more) weeks after utter silence.....a box appears in the mail from Oregon....long after you'd given up all hope. I have no complaints other than it took a wwwwwwhile. He/she/it did come through in the end but be prepared to wait for your stuff. That's all. The first time is a quite harrowing experience. Yeah, doom comes to mind...or despair....Maybe he has a lot of sick relatives..I dunno, it does rain an awful lot out there in Oregon...;)
-
@Argus
Yeah, I can understand your point of view. I'd be annoyed too I think.
I know sometimes BoingBoss/Doomy/etc can sometimes say things which get people's backs up, but lately he seems to be making more of an effort to be a little more concilatory.
Hopefully it's all cool and the gang now, you've got the disks and BoingBoss will keep his Ebay customers updated more often.

@PMC
Yeah, he seems to be trying and is doing a service to Amiga fans by saving machines and equipment from otherwise certain death. I personally think it's the weather out there. I once spent 10 days in Seattle/Portland and it rained 9.5/10 days. I mean, like you never see the sun. Believe me, it drives you wacko after about the third or fourth day. Anybody from that area should get a pass if they act a bit odd every now and then.
-
Damn, just like Judge Judy overhere! Carry on people, care on... Solve the problem :-P
-
Doomy/Boingboss/whomever,
We're desperately trying to give you the benefit of doubt, and we have been. Thank you for your recently displayed levels of civility, and I sincerely hope you can bring your reputation up a bit by being reasonable and level-headed.
Improving your e-bay reputation will be a very, very important part of that aspect, and while it doesn't technically involve your Amiga.org account, the continual reports of "ripping off ebay users" DOES have an inescapable effect on ALL of our opinions. Ripping off our users -- intentional or not, excuses or not -- is not a good way to stay on our good side.

@Argus
Hey no problem I see where you are coming from. He does need to communicate better that is for sure, as the buyer does not know where he stands. Like me for instance, I bought a Novia kit and AdIDE2 from this guy on eBay and have not heard a thing, its been over a week. He was quick to reply on emails before I paid, but now nothing. I am patient as I know things can happen. Things happen and it can take a while to get things on eBay. But good communication is always welcome.
Heh I live in Tacoma (near Seattle) I know what you are talking about! Everyone is whacky up here.... lol
