Title: Before PC virus, now MOBILE Virus!?!
Post by: gizz72 on August 18, 2004, 06:19:46 AM
Greetings,

http://www.ebcvg.com/news.php?id=3327

I'm a newbie when it comes to this, but I don't know if I should watch out for these? I'm wondering, how in the world can you EVER get infected with a MOBILE VIRUS?!? WAP? Downloading??
According to the article I posted, some games had virus.
Hmmm, What's the worst thing it can do?
Are there any 'ANTI-VIRUS' as well?
Should one would be alarmed?
Any tips would be appeciated...

Here is the recent virus that hit here.. called 'Caribe'. luckily I'm not yet a victim of this virus.

It uses bluethooth to transfer itself and ways to stop it.

Even the PocketPC is not spared.
>Duts is a parasitic file infector virus. It is the first known virus for the PocketPC platform. Duts affects ARM-based devices only.

Regards,

Gizz

This is the at least the second mobile phone virus that's going about.

There was a java one that only infected net capable moniles a few months back.

I think most of this is BS and crap spread by some struggling IT company that wants to sell even more anti-virus solutions...

A lot of talk about viruses today is based on pure paranoia.... Whatever happened to common sense? I mean, if you suddenly get a executable file in your inbox, via Bluettoth, from somebody you don't know, would you install it?
