My Amiga 3000 with OS 3.1 got corrupted somehow, and I think my wife created the problem.. (that's another story).. anyway, when I tried to reinstall the OS, each diskette out my set, one or more diskettes are corrupt.
My diskettes were in storage, but I can't understand how they got corrupted.
Can some assist me with getting my Amiga 3000 up and running. Please e-mail my at byron_duplantier@hotmail.com.
Thanks

Get another set of 3.1 OS diskettes from someone who can make you a
copy, as long as this practice is not going to breach copyright laws.
Regards.

@AMIGA-FAN
Er, that would be blatant piracy....
@duplaby
Hi,
you should have logged onto this form long before this, and seen the links to Amibench (http://www.amibench.org/) or Eyetech (http://www.eyetech.co.uk/search.php?SearchStr=&SearchCat=AMSW)
Good luck.

Not really piracy. Borderline case, perhaps, but not piracy. Remember, he does own a copy, it's just defect.
-
I'd do it. He has the disks his are just bad. IMHO.

Here's a thought. Buy AmigaForever. That way you'll get the images of the disks, legally.. along with some other neat things, and you can make as many copies as you like. Not sure exactly which it comes with, but I know it has 1.3, 3.0 and 3.1 atleast... and probably 2.1 aswell.

@AMIGA-FAN
Hum,
yeah, i suppose it`s ok if he`s got the disks - i wasn`t thinking; (got sidetracked)
@duplaby
just a thought have you tried any other disks in the drive?
Perhaps it`s getting old or needs a clean?
-
You can get replacement disks from http://www.amigadeals.fsnet.co.uk/adother.htm
At a reasonable price.
-
You are correct. I do have the originals, but there's no one locally that can make copy for me. I will not be breaking any copyright laws. I own a copy and Commodore is out of business, so I can't contact them about my problem.

BTW, I live in New Orleans, Louisiana. My niece lives in San Antonio, TX.

Diskettes, especially those not used in years, have a horrible habit of fouling up. Let's face it, disks have a horrible habit of fouling up anyway. Perhaps at some stage they have gotten warm and cooled down rapidly, or come close to a power source. Disk 2 of my 3.1 setup died, so I just did a google search and downloaded me replacement set (which is not illegal, I have the original disks, and the manual even advises that the user first makes a backup of the workbench diskettes).
I expect I'm not allowed to provide any links here, but it really shouldn't take much more than 5 minutes to obtain what you need through a search engine.

Click on any of the following to download the Workbench you want, you will need to transfer them back on to disks.

I can download the diskettes that are corrupt, but what do I from that point. Remember, my Amiga is not working, and there no way for my to extract those files. I couldn't do it if I used my Dell PC.
I don't know anyone in my area that has an Amiga to assist me with this process.

Removed - Harddrive is SCSI

Is there anyone in the USA willing to make copy of OS 1.3, 2.04 or 3.1? Of course I'll pay for shipping including sending you my original diskettes so you'll know I am legal.

Thanks

The Amiga HD are SCSI, and my PC HD is IDE. I would have to get/locate a SCSI PCI card. I guess I can do that, but that seems problematic.. but I may give that a try.
-
To much messing about then. i still recommend you download the above files and try out UAE.

Amiga Forever doesn't have the complete disk images, just bootable WorkBench disks (at least not the downloadable edition).
