Thats sad :-(
-
Using planks, they loaded the woman on to the trailer, still attached to the couch. Removing her would be too painful, since her body is grafted to the fabric. After years of staying put, her skin has literally become one with the sofa and it must be surgically removed.
OMFG! I didn't realise that was possible!
-
i doubt this is true.
but it is weirdly entertaining.
sort of in the way that alien abductions and 300lb babies are. :-o

it's true! Saw it on the news, the DA is still thinking about bringing up negligence charges against the family.
Last year there was a woman who had a remote controll stuck in a roll of fat so long that the skin grew around it and formed an abcess that had to be operated on.
Wierd stuff

Here's a more uplifting story in the same vein

Greetings,
It goes to show that the manufactured food they eat these days are the major cause of obesity around the world. Food chains are the culprits.
Really Sad to hear people suffer like that. If only burgers, pizzas and high cholesterol food are not delicious. Can't help it sometimes if I ever see pizza, I jump out and grab one, an another.. Sooner or later i'd feel the bloat in my tummy and gain a few pounds.
Always eat your veggies! It's for you own good, my mother always say to me. He he. :-)
Regards,
Gizz

I doubt these people could blame much of this on their diet, obesity like this can't be from diet alone, usually there's some severe glandular problems

It's kind of ironic to bring a neglect charge, in a way. The only reason she was able to get into this state was that her family kept bringing food. People who are abandoned and have to go out and buy their own groceries cannot get into this situation.

There's no doubt that convenience foods are often much less healthy than the alternatives, but it's a bit of a leap in logic IMO to attribute this case to it. The lack of exercise appears to be the primary factor here. And, lest I forget, I ate McDonald's every day for two and a half years and never gained a pound. (I do have a very fast metabolism, though.)
-
Greetings,
@punk
It also depends on the genes and lifestyle. I too, have a fast metabolism, but before, I seldom move about. Now I walk a km a day just to sweat it all off. Lost 5 lbs. It's a lifestyle disease. Too much eating and drinking (ahem! beer!) and lack of excercise and food chains are really a bad combo. Still, we have self-control. :-)
@all
If you've seen the episode of Opera(IIRC), the topic was about obesity and how the people overcame them. I was shocked how they eat uncontrollably, but still manage to control their 'eating disorder'. Touching is it not?

I suppose cows get so big because they sneak off to the nearest junk food joint then...?

By the gods! :-o
I don't want to know how she took care of her own waste.
Shame on her family, who actually kept feeding her! :admonish:

Colostomy bag?

Even if you eat a reasonably good diet, exercise still benefits by raising your metabolism and boosting cardiovascular capacity.
Studies have shown that exercise is helpful in combatting depression thanks to the endorphine hit that most physically fit people experience after working out. It's a great way of dealing with stress and anxiety too. If someone p#sses me off I take it out on a running machine or in the swimming pool rather than bottling it up.
If I don't exercise for a few days I begin to get grumpy and irritable....

Huh? How could skin become grafted with the fabric :-? The skin would have become bedsores and flesh would have simply rotted away, right? I have a hard time believing the details here.
-
A group known as the League of Human Dignity helped arrange for Deuel to be driven to a local livestock scale, where he could be weighed.
*cough*.....dignity eh....?

What's the name for guys who lust over fat women? Can't remember atm, but anyway, there was a program on Sky a few weeks ago about such people.
One particular chap married the fattest woman he could find (they met in a 'fat club' I think) and then with her consent, proceeded to feed her continuously until her weight hit a specific target.
She started out at around 50 stones (700lbs) but soon reached 800lbs+. They then set a new target. He took great pride in all this and took all sorts of very yucky photos. Her inner thighs dripped to ground level. It was pretty puckey, but he really got off on it.
Takes all sorts I guess. Gigalipophiles?

I've had wounds heal into gauze before, due to failing to change them every 6 hours. While the woman wasn't wounded, I imagine 600 lbs of pressure over 5 years on moist 98.6 degree fahrenheit fabric could cause the skin to start growing through the pores in the material. Skin's pretty pliable. Heck, skin even naturally tends to try to surround sources of infection rather than growing clear of it.
I can't imagine it would be very comfortable, hell, I complain when the thread count of the bedsheets is too low.

Judging by what they said about the stench in the house, I'd say she did it where she sat...

Greetings,

I believe that's the way people die. They tend to release waste before or during expiration. Sad to think though. :-(

When your brain dies, your muscles tend to relax, including those that keep all that undesirable waste material inside, thats why dead people sometimes soil themselves as a fleeting gesture.

Emergency workers had to remove some sliding glass doors and lift the couch, with Grinds still on it, to a trailer behind a pickup truck. Removing her from the couch would be too painful, since her body was grafted to the fabric. After years of staying put, her skin had literally become one with the sofa and had to be surgically removed.
