Post by: TheMagicM on August 08, 2004, 02:44:41 PM
On one of my spare A500's I get a red screen.. I've replaced the 68000 cpu and 1.2 ROM..still same thing.. any clue as to what it could be?

Well, I'm grasping at straws, but maybe check Gary 5719?  (Could be Gary is not letting the 68000 access the bus TO the ROM?) (shrug)

I'm really more of a hardware guesser than a specialist, though.

On amiga 500's a red screen is very common.
try reseating the Fat Agnus chip , also check the pins on the Agnus socket.

Cheers

I've had a similar problem with A2000. At boot, I was getting the red screen, however the system would still go pass it and boot fine. When I replaced the Denise chip with another one, the red screen went permanently away. :-)
