I found the manual, I'd like to save $25 to
upgrade, BUT can't find the serial number, is it on the floppy?
(B4 I dig thru all those mouldy floppies in the attic) TIA! 8^)

It's on the back of the disk, yes. Also, please note that in order to upgrade, you must have a registered version of IBrowse 1.x installed somewhere (the SN alone is not enough).
-
basically that it.
registered users of IBrowse 2.x can upgrade for free, and there is a special upgrade price available to registered IBrowse 1.x users ...

Auugh! For real? I haven't a real amiga operating, and even if I did, I doubt I could load a mouldy old disk!
Hmm maybe if I Snail-mailed my old floppy to a distributor? hoo-boy arrgh..:/

Try contacting the author directly. Isn't he also on A.Org around?

The 1.x->2.3 upgrade process relies on being able access your registered IBrowse 1.x executable.

The serial number for my copy of IB1.22 is on the back side of my floppies, if memory serves.
I'm also planning to upgrade.

You don't need the floppies to upgrade. You don't even need to run the old 1.x version.
Just download the 2.3 demo version, then when you've paid for the upgrade and you get the download permission, make sure you get the V2.3 keyfile, it's not obvious on the download screen. Dump it in the same drawer where you unpacked the demo, the install script will do the rest. It asks for your new 2.3 drawer, and the old 1.x drawer, then drops a new "V1" keyfile in the new drawer. With your new "V2" keyfile, you're on your way.
The old version will still run and is still registered. You can copy your old hotlist across to the new drawer ("IBrowse-hotlist.html").
