Greetings JJ,

I have a same set-up here at the office, If you like, I'll try it tomorrow with my Amiga Forever and CD32 of Guiness Disc of records to see if will boot.

You see, I'm having problems booting it up on the real A1200. I'm using The Fix-Ide'97 express! package, It's bundled with a CD32 emulator/booter(cd32.lha, IIRC). At boot time It only gives me a Black screen. Then, That's it.. nothing more. :-(  Odd..

Regards,

Gizz

With a (Akiko?) rom 3.1 rom...

@Blob

Are there any chance of an Akiko Emulator for the Real A1200?

Thanks,

Gizz

Not legally...
acording to the readme:

"To emulate a CD32, Akiko needs an image of the kickstart rom 3.1 (v40.x) which is on the CD32 motherboard. The same kickstart rom is also in the new A1200's and A4000's from Amiga Technologies. It doesn't matter for Akiko if you use a kickstart rom from a real CD32 or from an A1200 or A4000. However, you are not allowed to use a kickstart rom if you do not own the real rom on the motherboard!"
(So you can play most games...)

but,

"The extended rom from the CD32 is only required if you want to use one of the CD32's rom applications or if you want Akiko to show a boot animation like on the real CD32. "
"It's also important that you use a CD32 kickstart 3.1 with the extended rom. It won't work with a kickstart version from A1200 / A4000 or A2000. You will require the CD32 kickstart 3.1 which is version 40.9 "

But check the website (http://www.airsoftsoftwair.com/)

Cannon Fodder works fine with WinUAE. If you're having problems with CD32 emulation, try/check the following with your CD32 config:

(I realise some of the below is painfully obvious, but with WinUAE sometimes a tiny change can make all the difference!)

- 2MB chip RAM, 0MB fast RAM.
- 68EC020 (with 'Fastest possible, but maintain chipset timing' checked)
- AGA chipset (DON'T check any of the three boxes in 'Misc Chipset Options')
- Collision Level 'Full'
- Sound emulation 'Emulated, 100% accurate'
- Set all four floppy disk drives to 'Disabled'

This is the config I have used for a standard CD32 since 0.8.23, through to the current 0.9.90. It works for me with 95% of games, including Cannon Fodder.

I hope someone finds the above useful! :-)

Steve.
