Hello
Im new member of this forum and I registered here for hoping to get an answer to my problem
here's the case..
I have a amiga 600 (without HD)
and ofcourse my amiga happens to be broken.
Im getting a flashing yellow screen when I turn the machine on.
I know that it is a amiga error message, but what does it mean?
Im a technician and so I know some electronics if someone could kindly prowide me a quick and Simple answer maybe even instructions how to fix this.
Thankyou in advance

It means that your amiga is broken.
My a1000 did a smiliar thing, thogh it didnt blink, it was yellow on one tv and pink on another....
The amigas flash a series of colors on the screen during booting. If it fixes on a color, that color is an error code.
I wish i had more information for you, i am sure somebody else here does.

From what I can remember, a yellow screen is a CPU error, see here (http://www.nethkin.com/bmori/amiga/files/tech/tech/test.htm).

sometimes I get yellow screen sometimes it remains light gray and now it has been doing this..
The system boots the gray colors change but when the kickstart should appear the screen fades to black and stays that way..
does that sound any familiar?

Okay,
I've got three maybe-helpfull-ideas
1) If you have a 1MB card, check if it is a) connected properly and b) what happens when you remove it. I had an A500 a few years back with the exact same symptoms, turns out the memory card had died somehow.
2) Stupid one for SMD, but anyway, see if the Kickstart is still securely in place and try to find if any of the chips are 'loose'.
3) Powersupplies for the Amiga (except big-box ones) are notoriously bad, try a different one if at all possible, or since you are a technician, check if the named voltages and amp rating actually get delivered to the Amiga. You never know!
The disclaimer to this one is that I'm just following what works for me and I am in no way a qualified Amiga repair man. Take it as you will :-)

Thankyou wery wery much all of the help and tips you prowided!
I tried all of those options
without result..
I've tried different kickstart etc.. nothing.
Maybe I take my solder iron and heat up those solder pads if there were any bad ones.. :)

@clivesson
I think it may be that there is some sort of Metal Particle stuck in between 2 chips or causing 2 contacts to touch. make sure you take some sort of vacuum or brush and clean the circuit board, even removing the sheilding and floppy. Also try booting without the mouse or joystick connected as well as thee RGB monitor......usa a TV instead.
Hope that turns out to be the problem and you solve it.

Thanks for your help :)
but I therw that A600 away and brought amiga 500 back to alive since it's much more realible machine and has never failed me before :)
but now I have a another question..
is there any possibility to attach PC floppy drive into amiga? is there anything I could modify the floppy drive to fit amiga?
Since that old Drive what I've got in amiga 500 is pretty wornout.. I did clean it but still it's old :(
so is there even a slight change to get pc floppy drive working in amiga 500 motherboard..
thanks in advance

You would have been better off trying to hack your old A600 drive to fit, would have been so much easier.

Never throw away Amiga parts, even if they don't work!! ;)
-
uhh.. well I kinda did and it worked fine.. for sometime untill I started to clean the A600 floppy but then it stopped working..
dunno was it me or did it just broke by it self..
anyways the a600 floppy just makes click sounds and when I put disk in it spins and clicks thats all it wont load..
damn.. I should have lef that a600 drive alone :)
but is it possible to fit new pc drive to a500?
sorry about such newbie questions
and yeah I did not throw those a600 parts away just put them back to closet :)
