Hi everyone :)
Since i got a PC (which is years ago now) i havn't spent too much time using my amiga (shame on me!) even though it's still working perfectly.
Now that WinUAE is doing an almost perfect job i got interested more and more again - so be prepared for tons of questions that might follow this post :P

Hi eCat! Welcome to the forums. I think you'll find that many people on here have the same story (myself for sure). Great group of people on here that all want to help the Amiga stay around. Hope you enjoy your stay.

while i never "lost" my amiga - or the love of it - i find that I want to figure out as many ways to still use amiga programs and continue to get the "Amiga feeling" as much as possible.
and WinUAE is certainly one great way!
and I do love it here on amiga org (to the dismay of some  )
welcome home!

Welcome to Aorg :-)

lemme guess: how to transfer ADF files to yer Amiga (cuz nothing beats the real thing :-))
-
Hehe... Thanks for the great welcome!
actually I've been quite active on the Amiga (and on the c64 earlier) before i got the PC - little demos, intros, hd-installers, some *cough* cr***s .. so getting an adf to the amiga wouldn't be the biggest problem ;)
At the momnent i'm trying to 're-build' my real amiga on Winuae - including applications like DirOpus (which took me quite some time on the real amiga as well as on the virtual one (installing tools for everything like dms<->adf conversion, mounting virtual disks ...(i'm far away from that on the virtual machine - lost quite some experience))), Packers, Games, Programming & hacking-stuff (filemaster asmone)...
...
lemme guess: how to transfer ADF files to yer Amiga (cuz nothing beats the real thing )
...
actually my first question would be:
does anyone know if there is something to execute .info-files ? i'm not talking of something like iconX which allows me to execute scripts - i want to execute the info-files themself. That would be a nice thing to run WHDLoad-Stuff from shell. WHDLoad (as well as other installer) Icons often contain quite some amount of information - which i would have to transfer to a script file to make the Program work from shell (or other scripts).
hope a solution for this already exists - if not i'll have to start coding again i guess *g*
another thing - On my real Amiga i loved "reorg" - because it was fast, reliable ... on WinUae i experienced that the application seeme dto crash everytiome i tried to use it. (i used the cpu-speed setting "adjustable between cpu and chipset" which might have caused Problems) - any ideas ?
thanks again, guys!

Welcome to A.org...where the fun never stops ;-)

"does anyone know if there is something to execute .info-files ? "
Yes. Try RunFromWB on Aminet. From CLI you type RunFromWB then the .info name and it runs it as if double-clicking from Workbench. I have it set up as an ABCdir button. I was so thrilled when I found this program!
(hey, why is the Quote feature not working from Ibrowse??)

Very Cool!
Thanks a bunch - i'll try that when i get home from work today!
cheers,
