Ok, lets start another "best of" thread :-D
thinking of good demo music:
+ Phenomena - Enigma (http://www.pouet.net/prod.php?which=394) (1991) absolutely brilliant tune - must be played at max volume :-P
+ Sanity - World of Commodore (http://www.pouet.net/prod.php?which=2938) (1992)
+ Crusaders - Audio X (http://www.pouet.net/prod.php?which=5498) (1989) one of the musicdisks i remember well
which demo tunes do YOU remember ?
-
Kefrens - Desert Dream (Laxity - Desert Dream 1, 2, 3 (http://www.scenemusic.net/research.htm?recherche=desert+dream&type=2))
Sanity - Arte (Moby - Livin' insanity (http://ftp://de.aminet.net/pub/aminet/mods/pop/LivingInsanity.lha), Moby - Mobyle (http://ftp://de.aminet.net/pub/aminet/mods/funk/Mobyle.lha))
Complex - Ultimate Sinus (Walkman - We're the devils (http://www.scenemusic.net/info.htm?idsong=55274), working dl link (http://www.back2roots.org/Get/We%27re%20the%20devils%2C1/))
-
Budbrains - Megademo 2 :-D
-
Freezers - Wit Premium ;-)
Spaceballs - State of the Art & 9 Fingers
-
Reflex (1992)
-
Pygmy Projects: Extension
-
zif by parallax
2cb by dcs
I also end up with tracks from various Nature demos stuck in my head...not really my style musically,
but generally they're very nicely layered...with a good balance of elements.
-
Jesus on E's had fantastic music.............
-
Slighty O/T but...
WinAMP in the library has an Internet TV channel called demoscene.tv ( http://www.demoscene.tv ) and they have an Old Skool channel, plays lots of Amiga / Atari Falcon demos :-)
Its pretty cool. Had some Budbrain and JoEs there yesterday.
-
I love these threads...
My personal favorites are:
Crusaders - Space Deliria
Scoopex - Mental Hangover
RSI - Megademo
Spaceballs - State of the Art, Nine Fingers
Anarchy - System Violation
-
thanks for the link LinchpiN, really cool !
just watched the Quartex demo Substance, had some good music too :-D
-
Yup, Nine Fingers was good, but the one that I really liked (and its embarrasing because I've forgotten the title) was the one where they raytraced a low-res first-person rollercoaster sequence and made the car stop and go with the music. It was awesome. Is it called Switchback or something like that? I can't remember who did that, but that was the best.
-
X-ray:
Switchback / Rebels (http://ada.planet-d.net/showdemo.php?demoid=154)
-
Oh yes!! Piru!!
Yup, I am going to download that again right now.
-
TBL - Captured Dreams
Maturefurk - Lapsuus
Mellow Chips - Rise
Embassy - Myster & Tremor
Venus Art - Drowned Offshore
and countless others...
-
My two picks:
"Real" from Complex
"Big Time Sensuality" from Axis (Björk rules)
"Nexus7" from Andromeda
ok, it was three

@NJ_72
Indeed. Knulla Kuk (http://www.scenemusic.net/info.htm?idsong=54103) kicks some serious behind. :-)
Hmm another good one:
Virtual Dreams & Fairlight - Love (http://www.pouet.net/prod.php?which=409) (Jogeir - Physical Presence (http://www.scenemusic.net/info.htm?idsong=53299))
-
Who did the Jesus on Es demo?
-
Jesus On-Es (http://www.pouet.net/prod.php?which=5265) was done by LSD
havent checked it yet, comments on pouet.net are good
-
TBL - Tint
The last part, with the tunnel, the glass spheres spinning around the TBL logo and the great samples of female voices "where is the keeey to unlock all my dreeeams". The module is in Back2theRoots.
-
Desert Dream, no contest :)

Yeah, there are a couple of good demoscene streams on Winamp ;) I've found a couple of amazing PC demos and downloaded them later to watch in good quality.

Oh wow, I forgot about Knulla Kuk!!! :) That brings back the memories! But, not as good as Cortouchka (sp?) IMO.. I think Knulla Kuk was Moby's sequel to Cortouchka, there are some lines shared between the two. The drums and rhythm guitar in Cortouchka are really really good though.
Got that back in 1994, just days before my kickstart 2.04 package came in the mail... Those were heady days :-)

What is the mod in the Rebels/Switchback rollercoaster sequence? That is damn good. Of course it has an element of nostalgia for me, like most of you with your favourites...
-
@X-Ray
Chromag - Switchback 2 (http://www.scenemusic.net/info.htm?idsong=52033) (SwitchbackMods.lha / mod.Switchback-Endpart (http://de.aminet.net/pub/aminet/mods/sets/SwitchbackMods.lha))
It's pretty much a cover of Prodigy, but fits the demo very well.
-
Ta!!
Edit: What Prodigy song do you mean?
-
@X-ray
Voodoo People
-
Ta again, my friend!
-
ahh, here's another classic
Cebit '90 / Revenge of Babbnaasen - Red Sector Inc (http://www.pouet.net/prod.php?which=3024)
this song pushes amiga's 4 channel audio to the max :elvis:
-
hmmmm.. how come nobody mentioned jesterday yet ?
wasn't exactly a demo but a music-disc - still amazing though!
eCat
-
:bump: :-D
yep, jesterday (http://www.pouet.net/prod.php?which=2894) features some cool music
here's another one
rebels - megademo 2 (http://www.pouet.net/prod.php?which=2742)
