When I try to download a .ZIP file off the net iBrowse nicely asks what I would like to do with the file, which I can save it to disk, but when I try to download a .LZX file it loads it into the window as text and does not allow me to save it. I even tried to SHIFT and then hit ENTER but no go. How can I make iBrowse see a LZX like a ZIP? You would think it would be the other way around but no... lol

Hum,
Go into the ibrowse prefs and change them!
settings --> general--->mime types and add a new entry for lzx
er, save to disk..
-
Where? I went into MIME and set a new one and it still didn't work...
-
you added save to disk?
extension was lzx ?
Have a look here (http://www.ibrowse-dev.net/documentation/html/examples.html) to get a feel for the use of other types of mime handeling...
[can you not just save the file from the menu?]
-
In Preferences -> General -> Mime Viewers (or the most bottom item in General menu, can't remember how it's in English, might be External Viewrs) you'll find the definitions for different filetypes. Search for zip and make similar entry for lzx, type:application/lzx, extension: lzx , action: Save to disk
Note that some servers send false header information (or none) which makes some browsers handle the files incorrectly.

yep. Hmm do I need to quit and restart IB?
-
Should be ok without restart....
Btw, you can also right mouseclick over the link and choose "Open and save to disk" in the link menu...
-
Tried that, does the same thing..... aarrghhh
-
I am typing in a URL not clicking on a link btw.
-
Then I think the server is sending incorrect header. Make a html-file including only the url as a link, open the file and then use the right mouse button, I have to use that method occasionally.
