Title: Anyone tried Jabberwocky 1.5pre4?
Post by: Crusher on July 21, 2004, 08:42:58 PM
It's still a pain to install. :-D

The thing I'm wonderig about is the filetransfer. I just can't get it to work. I have the openurl library and so on but it still doesn't work. So have anyone fixed this?

Which service do you want to use? Because the most popular services aren't supported.

FAQ nr. 5 from the homepage:

5. Is there any way to transfer files with Jabberwocky ?

Yes. You can send and receive files through the Jabber service but not with other services like ICQ, AIM or Yahoo. All you need is an installed webbrowser and OpenURL.

On what server are you registered? Because only few servers support filetransfer. The original jabber.org server and some others like:
jabber.ccc.de
njs.netlab.cz

You can check this site to see what is supported on the servers etc.
http://www.jabber.org/user/publicservers.php

If i remember correct, jabberwocky still doesn't support filetransfers though, but i haven't checked pre4 yet. :-)

Oops, forgot to tell :-)

Ok, I use jabber.ccc.de and msn messenger 'cause "all" my friends uses Windows. I have openurl and that points to both Ibrowse and AWeb.

Maybe it isn't implemented yet.
