Title: SoftKicker that works with OS 3.1
Post by: jjans on July 21, 2004, 04:40:10 AM
Hello, I recently upgraded my A500/A530 to WorkBench 3.1 kickstart 40.63. I have 68030 (MMU)/68882(FPU) under the hood that used to work fine with SKICK and WorkBench 2.04 KS 37.

I was able to dual boot into a different drives, one with WB 2.04 installed, and the other with WB 1.3. I was thus able to run many older 1.3 games right from hard disk via SKICK.

This is not the case anymore since upgrading, and having read documentation with SKICK, I have disabled all CPU cache/data and FASTROM references to startup-sequences which to my limited understanding also disables MMU.

I notice that SKICK and TUDE will only reboot into KS 34(WB 1.3) via DF0: with the 68030, and the GVP scsi controller(and hard drives) disabled, using the original MC68000 CPU onboard the A500.

All the WHDLoad installed games that I have checked thus far are still working fine.

Any suggestions on how to enable softkick to 1.3 with 68030?:-?
