Is anyone running OS 3.9 on an A2000 ??
I've tried to install it several times but
it errors out. OS 3.1 runs fine.
I'm wondering if there might be something wrong
with this A2500. It seems to be very fussy about
what hardware it will except.
Any comments on this ??

I have installed OS 3.9 on my Amiga 2500 many times. I have a GVP 'o60 accellerator and an old 4 speed Sony CD. I use a Retina 4 meg card and have a 2 Meg Chip and 32 megs of ram. Just needs 3 boots to go as I also use OxyPatcher. I have a 16 gig scsi HD divided into 4 3.9 disks and a 200 meg disk to install WB on.

@ melott,
I have been running OS3.9 for years on my A2000, Click handle for spec. There is nothing like an 060 on a Classic Amiga. What Accel on your machine?

I've tried installing with the C= 2630 @ 25mhz card
and also without. (7 mhz 68000)
I have a DKD MegaChip (2 megs chip) and also an 8 meg
Zorro card with 6 megs installed.
I have the 3.1 rom installed.
I'm using a 2091 SCSI card with a 1 gig Conner drive.
I've tried different combinations but it always
errors out.
This machine seem very fussy about what hardware it
will except. I have a couple other accellerator and
SCSI/Ram cards but this machine doesn't seem to like
them and I'm fairly sure the cards are good. I'm starting
to suspect there's a problem with this machine but I
can't guess what it is. It runs fine with OS 3.1 and
the C= 2630 and 2091 cards.

Could it be the CD? or maybe the reader. Sometimes I get errors when reinstalling but then on retry it works fine. Do you have access to another CD or maybe someone whose machine you could install it on.

I have an A2000 with a GVP 030 at 40mhz and a scsi2 controller. 540mb conord HDD and an 8UP! with 4mb
4mb on the accelorator card = total 9mb 3.1 roms
and i have had ZERO PROBLEMS with the install! might be the CD or check the connections to the cd-rom and HDD.
since you have the original disk I would be more than happy to burn my original and mail you the "back up" disk
:-D

I never realy liked the 2090/2091 and Zorro2 memory cards... If you can try get hold of a CPU card with RAM and SCSI onboard and see if that helps (GVPo3oCombo worked like a charm without a single hickup with OS3.9).

I have it on my A2K with Blizzard 2060.
First of all, there is no need to try it on a 68000 'cause that won't work at all. 3.9 needs atleast a 68020 and a FPU, atleast I needed it when I tried to install 3.9 on my A3K with A3640 that had an 68040 without FPU. Didn't work until I put a 68040 with FPU. :-)

What the spec of the A2000?
OS 3.9 requires 680EC020 or better, 4MB Fast RAM, Hard disk and CDROM.

Is your A2630 upgraded with ROM v7?
Is your A2091 upgraded with ROM v7 or the GURU ROM?
Finally,
is your A2091 upgraded with the version 08 WD chip?
Have a look at The Big Book of Amiga Hardware (http://www.amiga-hardware.com/) for further info.
