Title: Mediator, which Voodoo to use?
Post by: Legerdemain on July 20, 2004, 10:20:17 PM
Which to get hold of? Voodoo 3, 4 or 5? I've got an A1200 equiped with a Mediator at the moment, and all I care about is speed and resolution, not the price of the cards...

Voodoo3 3000 is the best to get, the 2000 model (I use it) will also work great. If you go for a Voodoo4/5 card you'll get more memory but it'll cost you in resolusions due to unfinnished drivers, the extra speed will virtually be unused due to bottlenecks and finaly there's a question of will they fit (at least Voodoo5 is a huge card)?

I'm still waiting for someone to tell me how to hardware overclock the Voodoo3 card... as the 2000 model will run faster than the 3000 model at the same clock and reliable aswell if one ads some more cooling to the chip (software to do this overclocking exist on the PC already).

Picasso-IV !

Why have super fast 2D on the Voodoo cards when you can have full
flicker fixing and AGA support on the P-IV?

I'd love to know how you see the early startup menu and use AGA
games/software on your setup!

;-) ;-) ;-)

I doubt you'll be able to hack the PicassoIV to fitt a PCI slot. :hammer:
