Hi,
when i press the esc key for display the bootmenu in my blizzardPPc, i can´t see the menu, this menu had a flicker effect and i don´t know how resolve it. I have BvisionPPC in my 060 603e+ with one 1084s monitor from commodore and Sony Trinitron 21" E530. The flicker is displayed in the 1084S, in the Sony not appear any signal.
How can resolve it??? :-?:-?:-?:-?:-?:-?
:-( :-( :-( :-(
Very THX.

It flickers in the 1084S because an interlaced picture is sent through your Amiga video output. This is normal.
It doesn't work on your Sony because it's not a 31KHz screen being sent through your BVision. But you can fix that. In the bootmenu, go to System, and set "31KHz default screen". Then save.
Next time you go into bootmenu it will be visible on your Sony monitor.

thx for the answer,
can you post any captures of the menu???
i can see this menu with very flicker effect and can´t read the option, only i see little graphics.
very thx.

@djwave:
If I'm not mistaken you can switch between 15KHz and 31.5KHz on the fly in the PPC bootmenu by just pressing space on the keyboard. In 31.5 KHz mode, the 1084 monitor will be unable to display the image, so you will have to plug in your VGA monitor and then press on the "Save" button to make 31.5KHz mode the default.

I press the space in the keyboard and don´t change nothing, the flicker in the 1084s continue, sniff sniff.
help, please...
very thx

@djwave:
Maybe you have an old version of the firmware which doesnt support changing mode via spacebar.
I just gotta ask if your 1084 is broken or something? There should be absolutely no problem at all reading the the text on the buttons in the bootmenu on a 1084 even if it is interlaced.
How is your 1084 connected to the Amiga and how is your Sony VGA monitor connected to the Amiga?

My 1084 monitor works well with games and aplications, only flicker with the bootmenu.
how can see the firmware version of the blizzardppc??
-
@djwave:
I do not know how to check the version of the BlizzardPPC firmware.
When using the Sony monitor, is it connected to the RGB-port of the Amiga with a VGA-adapter?
/Patrik
-
no, sony is conected to svga line of CVision.
-
@djwave:
Ok.
As you in the bootmenu arent getting any picture on the sony and you are getting an unreadable picture on the 1084 connected to the Amigas RGB port, it sounds like the bootmenu is displayed in 31.5KHz mode on the RGB port which means you need to have a VGA capable monitor connected there instead of the 1084 to be able to see it.
You dont happen to have a VGA adapter so you could connect the Sony monitor to the RGB port temporarily to change to BlizzardVision output or 15KHz RGB output.

but, i need a adapter???? the amiga 1200 not have a standard svga port, the amiga have a db15 or 25 port... how can conect to sony with standard svga connector??

Hi,
Get the latest flash update *before* the GRexx one. Install the flash update for this and you will be laughing.
1) You can switch the boot screen from 15 to 31.5kHz with space
2) Your early startup (and firmware boot menu) are visible via your BVision/CVision anyway so you don't even need the PAL screen ;-)

@djwave:
You can download the latest firmware from this link below:
Flash-300399.lha (http://ftp://de.aminet.net/pub/aminet/biz/p5/Flash-300399.lha)
Make sure you read the "HOW_TO_INSTALL_THE_FLASH.txt" textfile in the archive before you do anything.

THX ALL, the firmware update its ok, YEAAAA!!!, and now i can see the bootmenu correctly, mi scsi and my Bppc its now a little more faster, and aplications to ppc , now work me, ITS TIME TO INSTALL 3.9 jejejjeje.
-
BTW, that's not the latest flash update before the Grex one came.
-
what??????!!!!!!!!!
its a bad update????? my card work good, what happend with this update???
-
It's not a bad update. Just not the LATEST one.
Here is the latest (http://amigaworld.net/modules/mydownloads/visit.php?lid=22) update before Grex flashrom came out. It is dated (09.4.2000).
-
Don't install any flashroms that support the GRexx unless you actually have a GRexx. Whilst it may appear to work, but you will find that WarpOS/Warp3D will completely break as it seems these later updates change the base address (and probably other things) of the BVision.
It took me a week to track that one down ;-)

The most evident problem with the Grex flashrom is if you use Mediator 1200. Mediator requires a pci.library file in libs and Grex has it's own pci.library (same name), within the flashrom! Result, instant crash upon boot.
