Greetings,
I, for once, agreed on that issue. My friend's neighbor, both lesbian, had an adopted child and the lad turned out to accept the fact that his parents are both lesbian. Although there are still some places where gay or lesbian marriage is still forbidden, but that never stops them.
Although in some cases, the child turns out to be like them, as an example, but I don't see any fault in that. As long as they give the child his every rights.
I admire those people that they really can make a good parent which does have a positive results in the long run.
:-)

Why not?
Being heterosexual doesn't stop people from being bad parents so why should gay couples be stigmatised?
If they're in a stable relationship and willing to provide a loving environment for a child in need of care then I see no problem.

Hmm,
I can see that this will become a bit of a hot potato :-)
Since parenting is something both sexes normally partake in, I can't see that there is any link between ones sexual orientation (paedophillia excluded, of course) and their capacity to be a good (or bad) parent. There are plenty of examples of lousy heterosexual parents, for example. Also, before homosexuality became more socially acceptable there were many homosexual people who found themselves in heterosexual marriages and bringing up children perfectly well.
That said, it's a complicated issue with many more factors than peoples sexual preference.

I must admit that when I saw the title I thought, "Uh-oh, someone's trying to stir up a hornet's nest" but as the OP isn't one of the usual suspects, I realise it's meant to be a serious question.
In princinple I think it's fine, by the way. Although I haven't really thought about it, TBH.

There's no problem, kids grow up fine.
There's just one thing, kids will be searching for a mother/father person, just as kids do when they're raised by only one parent. But this doesn't give them mental problems whatsoever.
personally I do not want kids, and I am not suitable for such (I got a hard time even looking after myself :lol:)
@Gizz72
btw. I see you come from the Phillipines, how's the average opinion about these kinda subjects?

nearly every homosexual I know was raised by heterosexual parents.
I know single parents that have raised wonderful straight and gay children
I know married heterosexual parents that have raised wonderful childen
I know gay couples that have raised wonderful children
and I know divorced parents(both straight and gay) that have raised wonderful children.
I know of children who have turned out both straight and gay from every one of the above categories.
One's sexuality has nothing to do with their ability to raise a child.
To suggest that it does is like saying that if a single heterosexual father raises his daughter, she'll grow up to be a lesbian because he likes women.

@speel
Only the catholic church does not agree on this subject matter. Mostly a hush-hush kind of thing BTW. Most people agree by all means. As long as He/She grows-up and had a good education, home. Friendly people I might add. :-)

It basically denpends on whether the gay couple are good parents or not. :-)

That's what I was going to post.
It doesn't really matter if the parents are hetro/homosexual, single, married or whatever. It's the lessons/manners/respect the kids learn from the parents that's the important thing.
--edit--
I'd actually prefer more homosexual parents. The kids would be a lot better off than the usual benefit-scrounging kid farmers over here :-D

I remember a mate of mine in primary school had a lesbian mum, he used to get made fun of, etc. So that is another matter as well.

Is it overall a hush-hush thing, or is it just hush-hush by orthodox catholics?
