Title: Best picture.datatype?
Post by: Matt_H on July 14, 2004, 03:31:10 AM
I'm trying to put together the most up-to-date system possible (A600 project) with a plain 68000 and ECS, and I think I need a new picture.datatype. Is there anything usable that's better than the v40.4 that comes with AmigaOS3.1?

This is something I would also like to know, having a similar A600 system in the works.

Hi,

Later versions of the OS than 3.1, along with third party versions (such as those from RTG systems) tend assume a minimum 68020 CPU. It is possible you might get one working on a plain 68000 as long as it doesn't do any 32-bit multiplications/divisions or use bitfield instructions (I doubt the latter would be - they're quite slow anyway).
