Hi again, Ok looks like the Amiga that i bought from ebay is DODGY! but wondered if this problem can be fixed...?
The floopy drive always thinks the the disk is write protected even when it isn't. If i hold the left side of the disk down whilst it is in the drive it will allow the disk to be written too.
Can this be fixed by adjusting something in the corner of the floppy drive?
Thanks,
Ross

I had that same problem with one of my drives, but I guess the only fix I found was to use a q-tip and put it in rubbing-alcohol and then put it on the littel switches.. and push down on the switch alot, but then your going to have to wait till the alcohol inside drys up. When I did it to mine, then the drive worked perfectly.... But mine was the switch to detect disk changes. Hope this works. :-)

In my floppy drive the sensor arm was once bent needing a gentle twist back to original shape.
