Description: Just a random picture of my physical desktop. It wasn't a planned shot, if it was I might have tidied up and ensured the main A1200T was using the monitor on the KVM and not the WinBox. On display are (working downwards in vaguely defined columns) Top left: Impossibly heavy 19" CRT :-D Top centre: Ressurected 1200D (Apollo 68040/25MHz, 16MB fast, 1.28GB HD, 10M PCMCIA ethernet) Yamaha MU100R tone generator/synth, driven from main A1200T (MIDI input A) (as well as processing its' native audio through the cables jacked in the front) and also from the controller keyboard underneath (MIDI input B). Generic PS2 keyboard and mouse (urk) coupled with the worlds most abused keyboard rest. The dent in the left is caused by inadvertantly resting on my elbow on it whilst adopting a Ronin's "Thinker" style pose at the keyboard ;-) The bulge at the opposite end was doubltless caused by this :-) Top right: Second 1200D (4MB fast, 2GB HD) Old AMD K6-2 PC (was unfortunately using the monitor at the time. Less said about that system the better :-D My slightly less wrecked guitar (the other is on the opposite side of the room along with a second A1200T but that belongs to GadgetMaster). Finally my main A1200T (BlizzPPC 603e+ 240MHz, 68040 25MHz, 256MB 60ns fast, 10GB HD, BVision). Other bits and pieces include a 4.1 speaker system and a pair of 300W trust speakers that are often connected simultaneously (good midrange :-)) thanks to a quick patch bay on the front of the 1200T :-) Not visible is the nightmare topology of cables around the back! All in all quite a mess :-D Picture Stats: Views: 2958 Filesize: 91.75kB Height: 768 Width: 1024 Posted by: Karlos at September 10, 2004, 08:15:36 PM Image Linking Codes

morcar Posts:82 ![]() | February 20, 2008, 03:58:18 PM you just reminded me i have to get my WK-3700 linked up to the amiga or pc .... i used to love making music with that thing. |
Karlos Posts:16879 | October 24, 2006, 06:42:51 PM @leirbag28 Heck, there's another system there now, under the desk adjacent the 1200T, an A1-XE loaned to me by a friend (which I'm not even having time to use!). And I may need to make room for an A4K at some point :-o Alas my A600 is not there, it's at my folks place. My first amiga, it died a few years ago. It's now in a very sorry state too, it was in a bag that seemed to let the more energetic photons straight through to catalyse the old yellowing reaction :-( |
leirbag28 Posts:1793 ![]() | September 29, 2006, 05:16:42 PM @Karlos Hey, How about donating one of those A1200's to me? :-D You dont need 2.........gimme one! :-P EDIT: hmmm........maybe thats an A600? ![]() |
Karlos Posts:16879 | May 10, 2006, 08:35:58 AM  I guess it does a bit :-D |
Karlos Posts:16879 | September 11, 2004, 04:47:23 PM @GadgetMaster Alas the DigiCam belonged to someone else, I just had a bit of a play with it. Next time I get hold of it I'll take some snaps of yout 1200T. @odin Hey dude, what's wrong with my old phone? I got it ages ago as a student since virtually every place I lived tended not to have a working phone (regardless of the line itself). There is a much more modern cordless in the living room, but it would look out of place here, surely :-D |
GadgetMaster Posts:2177 | September 11, 2004, 04:20:42 PM Hey! I think I've seen that somewhere before ;-) You got a digicam? Hmm.... any chance of immortalising the 'guts' of my A1200T? :-) |
odin Posts:6796 | September 11, 2004, 02:44:52 PM Very tidy! Urgh, that telephone stands out like a wart on a beauty queen :-D. -edit- Ta for inspiring me to upload my own version of 'The Pit' :-). |
Karlos Posts:16879 | September 11, 2004, 09:50:06 AM The joystick is actually an old QuickShot Python, but they do look similar :-D It says "for professional players" so I assume ****master must have had one  The 1200 on the top is indeed using the ejector seat ROM edition of the 1240. Since retouching the solder work it's been a bit more reliable but sometimes it still wants to warm up before it boot. So it's not exactly my primary machine. You can't tell from the largely reflected illumination but the case is actually not too yellowed - gave it the bathtub & bleach treatement recently :-) -edit- Oh yeah, you can see the packaging for my 48K speccy too :-D |
Vincent Posts:3895 | September 11, 2004, 12:52:29 AM I recognise that joystick. Is it a Cheetah? Possibly a Mach 3? Or am I way off the scent as usual ;-) I take it that 040/25 is the "Flying ROM" version? |
