Description: Just a simple grab of MaxUAE running on my iBook G4. It actually runs very fast and so far is very compatable. games seem to run at near full speed.

If running a capable amiga emulation is your objective, the OS upon which that emulation runs is irrelavent. Presently WinUAE is clearly the better emulation. MaxUAE needs a good JIT 680x0 emulation, full RTG, RTA, network support etc. if it's to be able to compete fully with WinUAE. I'd imagine a good quality hand-crafted JIT 680x0 on PPC/G4 could outperform the x86 one - after all, register allocation would simply cease to be an issue ;-) |
