Comparing an ibook G4 to a pentium-M laptop just isn't fair.

my 1.4GHz pentiumM laptop with 512mb ram is significantly faster than my powerbook g4 1.5GHz with 1.5gb ram.

@MaDDuck

You aren't looking at it in perspective. If running a capable amiga emulation is your objective, the OS upon which that emulation runs is irrelavent. Presently WinUAE is clearly the better emulation.

MaxUAE needs a good JIT 680x0 emulation, full RTG, RTA, network support etc. if it's to be able to compete fully with WinUAE.

I'd imagine a good quality hand-crafted JIT 680x0 on PPC/G4 could outperform the x86 one - after all, register allocation would simply cease to be an issue ;-)

@MaDDuck

Yes, but it works.  There's a tradeoff for every action.  I have cheaper faster hardware, you have a pretty OS.  :roll:

Needs a G4 to run games at near 68000 speed?  It's a shame that MaxUAE isn't as advanced as WinUAE. Things run full speed on my lowly P3-M 1.3GHz laptop.

yes..........
But you have to run WINDOZE to use it, and I don't!
HA!!! :-D
