yeah i remember seeing those on display in an "escom" store in oxford. they were on the glass head just like on the box. they also had some A1200's on display in the store just showing the "insert disk" screen. i wanted to slip some demo disks in them and actually show them doing something. trouble is, most demos have some gratuitous nudity ;-) and i don't think that would have gone down to well...

i suppose they thought it was enough just having a high street presence rather than edumakating the general public... and £399 for a 14mhz 1200, or £599 for a xxxMhzPC with monitor and internet connection? whats jo-schmo gonna plump for? another missed opertunity..

I have a pair of the X-Specs as well
as a pair of Simu-eyes. I also have some generic
LCD shutter glasses. I have had various degrees
of success using Imagine 3D on the Amiga and
Depth Charge in Windoze. I am waiting to get
some more updated software for the Windoze
environment from a friend who uses the simu-eyes
in his day to day work.

I saw them when I lived in Japan attached to a NeoGeo - they were very blurry and I could never focus them, but the concept seemed sound.  When they hit shelves here, I bought them thinking that if they were being sold mainstream, they must be sharper (or I had seen a bad unit before.)  I returned them after 2 days becuse they were blurry and headache inducing.  After a few weeks, the dissapeard from store shelves, so I'd guess I wasn't the only one who didn't like 'em.

They were designed for games, but I wonder how productivity apps would look with these? :-)
