Description: This is a raytraced representation of a very expensive brooch. The bee would be constructed mainly of gold, with platinum stripes, pearl thorax, diamond-studded abdomen and antennae, ruby eyes and pale ruby studs on the wings. This was a very difficult trace for a beginner like me because the reflections were complex and the materials are shiny. I had to touch up one of the diamonds afterwards in Image FX because I rendered it with a different texture from all the others (doh!!) and this trace took the best part of a day to render at 4000x3000 original resolution back in 2000. So I didn't want to do it again. If you look carefully at the abdomen, near the diamonds on the left, you can see a few boolean errors that I should have smoothed while I had the image open in Image FX. But for our purposes I'll leave those streaks right there. Gives it character...
