By that logic, isn't Commodore 64 a better Commodore 64, becouse you don't need to write GO64?

It's the positive vibe that gives 'GO64' (should've been written with an exclamation mark)

I'd have to say the Best Commodore 64 because you can boot it in c64 mode by typing in 'GO64'

I got one too. Many people call it "Diesel", not only becouse of the "D" but also becouse of the noise that the internal fan makes. I recommend replacing it like I did, I can barely hear it anymore. Old one was about as loud as Playstation 2 fan.

If some of you are storing yours like this one, with the door open, then please close it.

The top read/write head is lifted up only on one side, so if you store the drive with the door open, the top head will twist and the drive will stop reading disks reliably in the end.

really ? so that counts for the 1571 drives as well I guess ? how about 1541's ? god ...

I love the look of low-profiled desktop cases. Like this one or A1000.

the metal cased one was sold in the us because the fcc is very restrictive of rf noise and the plastic case didnt shield at all.

The C128 that you have pictured is the lower quality version, with the plastic case. It was mainly sold in the USA. There is a higher quality C128 that has a metal case and no internal disk drive. That is the one that I am looking for.

Must be military spec then..

I've always wanted one of these.  I remember seeing one in a pawn shop about 10 years ago. :)

Wow!

The Commodore 128D..............

The FIRST machine I saw when I was 4-5 years old and the one that introduced me and brought me to the world of computers.

Mine broke many years before, but I still have some of the software that I had back then for it still.

I'd have to say the Best Commodore 64 because you can boot it in c64 mode by typing in  'GO64'

 :-D
