KThunder Posts:1509 | August 10, 2007, 03:15:15 PM @marco according to wikopedia and other sites the us lost over 117,000 men and women in wwI and another 200,000 were wounded. that is more than most of the other conflicts that we were in. so we were in more than just the last 5 minutes. if either the us or russia had pulled out the wars would have ended differently, neither could do it all alone. the french were vital to the american war of independence, but they only showed up in the last 5 minutes as you would say. |

Marco Posts:145 ![]() | December 11, 2006, 05:18:44 AM Hilarious, is this actually a real company then? I hear Sisters of Mercy get their touring computers from a military contractor, they still just about do 486s. @ KThunder: You (America) weren't even in WWI, 'cept for the last five minutes by which time all of Germany's allies had already surrendered and their final spring '18 offensive had failed to take Paris; thus rendering the whole thing moot. America beat the Japs in WWII that can't be denied, but the Soviets were the principal reason for victory, without them the thing would've been lost. As for the French, they basically won the American War of Independence for you, without them you'd all be able to say aluminium properly. Now if you wan't to insult a bunch of cheese eating surrender monkeys who actually do lose all the time; then pick on the Italians. we've never won a war on our own, and only 12 battles since independence in 1860 (in WWI - first 11 battles of the Isonzo, 12th was a balls-up at Caporetto where Germany mopped the floor with us but one year later Vittorio Veneto was a massive victory over the (rather crap) Austro-Hungarian army resulting in their surrender). |
KThunder Posts:1509 | April 11, 2006, 10:19:07 PM we keep on getting in these stupid wars that we arent allowed to win. ever since vietnam. wwII we were allowed to win noone argued wether we had any right to interfere or if it was all about oil or whatever. wwI we were allowed to win. his comment was about a long standing joke about the us bailing out france ever since our revolution but especially in the world wars when germany absolutly swamped france. france didnt take long in surrendering. the us has never surrendered. |

Van_M Posts:241 ![]() | June 03, 2004, 03:44:02 AM fannily enough I worked for a company that supplied the military of Greece, and truth is we used to put really bad off-the-shelf crap in the mil-spec computers for the projects. The only mil-spec thing about them was the antishock cases! |
