Description: The front lip of the upper half of my A1200's (Rusty) RF shield. Those little specks along the edge there appear to be some kind of plate material that is flaking off from the shield - They'll come off with a tap of a screwdriver - And they're conductive  What do you folks think? Hodgkinson Posts:1080 | February 13, 2008, 07:01:50 PM Comparison with a non-rusty shield seems to suggest that the flakes are a result of the manufacturing process rather than any rusting, where the shield has been folded. Still a good idea to remove them if possible whilst using a high-powered vacuum cleaner to suck them away. eslapion: I might arrange for a double shield for my A1200 since its being used for Amateur Radio. You've got me thinking... :-D Hodgkinson. |
Hodgkinson Posts:1080 | February 10, 2008, 08:42:01 PM I’m gonna to remove it, but I've got to put another one in its place :-D Amateur radio doesn't work well with RF noise all over the place. |
