Description: I've been working on this for a while. First to even find one that hasn't been destroyed by corrosion. Next I removed the old battery and cleaned the area. I used Fine-L-Coat to protect it and built a coin cell adapter with a diode, some .100 pin headers and little epoxy.

Working well and storing the CMOS setting properly, I installed the Cyrix 486 upgrade. This Bridgeboard started out as a 386-20 so I socketed the oscillator and bumped it to 25 so the 486 runs at the full speed of 50mhz. Benchmarks are about the same as the Vortex 486SLC II now!

The Bios deals with the upgrade just fine.

Nice... how does the BIOS cope with a different CPU?

Put a heatsink in the video GPU, too. Helps a lot.

Excellent fix you have done, by now.
