Description: Does anyone know which model Amiga this mouse came with? I got one with my A3000UX, and the left button was so worn out it is unusable. I got another one, still packaged, with an A2000. I have used it for a few hours and already the left button is wearing out. This mouse is complete garbage. The microswitches used for the buttons are horrible. They cause the buttons to intermittently work/not work/work on their own. What a pain! mikeymike Posts:3420 | January 28, 2010, 07:14:48 AM I still use the original A500 mouse on my A1200. That's a mouse that lasts ![]() |
Ilwrath Posts:2199 | April 23, 2008, 01:49:35 PM Terrible mouse. I wore mine out in a couple months. It came with my brand new A1200 (US/NTSC) back in Early 1993. |
AMC258 Posts:877 ![]() | March 16, 2008, 02:23:48 PM The cables on them are sub-par. Or at least for me. I have already wrecked two of them or I would buy another. Of course, if a portion of the proceeds went to Petro Tyschenko, I would buy 10 of them. |
rkauer Posts:3263 | February 16, 2008, 01:32:58 AM Vesalia and Amigakit have a lot of ball mice with the "Diamond Amiga" logo in it. You can choose: black or white, but only with two buttons. Good mouse, BTW. I have a black one for my beloved 1200. |

AMC258 Posts:877 ![]() | December 25, 2007, 11:33:42 AM The sole reason I would is that I like having a non-peecee mouse. But like I said, I'll rather put my effort into getting the Wizard working. That is my favorite mouse of all time. |
adonay Posts:1144 ![]() | December 25, 2007, 12:51:28 AM i wouldent bother change switches in this mouse at all. My opinion is that ballmouses suck i only use Lazer\opticall or trackball mouses .. Used to have a yellow bug mouse back in the day that one i would pay ££ to get back for memories but noting more |
tokyoracer Posts:1590 | December 24, 2007, 07:54:42 PM Very crap mice, rollers have a tiny ammount of rubber and they wear off very quickly. Stick with the tank ones. |
AMC258 Posts:877 ![]() | December 24, 2007, 06:55:45 PM Having disassembled the bad switch in mouse #1, I think the ones found in common consumer electronics are better quality. The PCB looks like it would accept snap action switches though and maybe I'll modify a mouse to fit some. I don't know if I'll bother, I'd rather put that kind of effort into fixing my Wizard 560. I've been thinking, and I can't recall any of the C= mouses I've used being any good. Were there any good ones? |
Ral-Clan Posts:1979 | December 24, 2007, 03:20:44 PM You can get replacement microswitches (the part under the plastic button that makes contact and wears out) from almost any electronic gadget that uses them. Old VCRs are a good source. You just have to know how to desolder/solder in order to do the swap. Then the mouse will be good as new. |
Jeff Posts:1410 | December 24, 2007, 02:17:03 PM I received this mouse with a used A1200. So far it works fine, but I haven't used it for very long yet. |
Hodgkinson Posts:1080 | December 24, 2007, 01:01:13 PM I've got a second hand stock A1200 mouse and that one had worn out, too. |
