Amiduffer Posts:1601 | September 11, 2007, 02:08:55 AM Yes, he has contacted me, and hopefully he'll buy it (its pretty cheap). Ah, no wonder it didn't work! Oh well, it was worth $1 just on the chance it might have been a HD floppy drive. |

It will however never run in HD mode on the amiga side of things. On the dark side (PC) it should work as a normal HD drive. |
starf81 Posts:332 ![]() | September 10, 2007, 09:28:04 PM The Amiga version is the FB-357A model while this is just a FB-357 model, without the "A". The same happens with the slim version (FZ-357 and FZ-357A). With a little hack (jumper settings and/or modified cable), this drive should work with DD Amiga floppies but NOT with HD Amiga floppies. Amiga reads high density disks at half speed than normal so the drive has to be specifically made for Amiga systems. Another amiga.org user (flaviosr) was looking for a NOT slim drive for PC. If youdon't use this Chinon, try to contact him! |
