Yes, this works fine. I took +5 and GND elsewhere, and soldered the CLK and DAT to CIA instead, but basically it's the same.

This version has the benefit of having all wires to single chip so it makes things easier (esp if you use reversed socket).

However, I had to cut the original chip's CLK and DAT, or the hack would not work.

Yes, it does.

If your A500 keyboard has only one flat cable, you can plug the controller board directly to the A1200 keyboard's flat cable and then just solder according to the diagram.

interesting.  does this fix the multi-keypress lockouts?
