paul1981 Posts:2157 | April 28, 2011, 11:48:14 AM If the onboard 68020 is getting hot then I suspect it's blown! Have you tried running it without the accellerator card? |
monami Posts:461 ![]() | February 15, 2008, 12:32:09 AM what are they stuck on with? |
jmbattle Posts:324 ![]() | June 21, 2007, 01:16:47 PM Screen tearing typically occurs when the displayed refresh rate is out of sync with the rate at which the graphics are redrawn, so I doubt cooling the custom chips will have any effect. |
DrDekker Posts:325 | May 15, 2007, 11:30:39 AM Certainly is a good idea. I've been running DblPal - and more recently DblNTSC (rock solid on my 19" TFT), which increases the heat generated by the video chips considerably. Removing the shield has improved cooling a little, but adding heatsinks and a fan will reduce temperatures further - and hopefully prevent the video 'tearing' problem on my A1200. |
Agafaster Posts:1175 | April 17, 2007, 12:04:50 PM laugh all ya like but its a good idea ! sinking that heat more effectively will prolong the lifetime of those chips, particularly in the Brazilian climate. and most of the chips are quite likely irreplacable ! -odd that the 020 gets hot in an accelerated system though... you'd expect it to be switched off... |
rkauer Posts:3263 | April 10, 2007, 11:24:20 PM Ok, because I can!:-D |
Brian Posts:1604 | February 27, 2007, 10:06:16 AM If for nothing but "because I can" I still would mark this a solid 10points for looks alone. ![]() |
rkauer Posts:3263 | February 08, 2007, 11:33:38 PM And a explaination: I live in Brazil. :-D In summer is really hot, here. :madashell: |
rkauer Posts:3263 | February 08, 2007, 08:03:43 PM I think it's better prevents. Alice and Lisa goes hot (I use DBL-PAL most of the time). :madashell: And the CIA chips running (not so) hot too. :madashell: The original 020 goes (strangely, 'cause I have an expansion board) hot too... :madashell: And I think it's looking better this way. :-P |
adolescent Posts:3056 | February 08, 2007, 05:55:57 PM Alice might get a little hot, but the rest surely don't need cooling. |

Starke Posts:316 ![]() | February 08, 2007, 12:53:59 AM Man, what do you run on your Amiga to get all the chipsets so hot? NOS? (smiles) Seriously though, I didnt think this would be the case for this particular board! Cheers 8-) 8-) |
