motorollin Posts:8669 | January 11, 2007, 07:46:25 PM The ones from Amigakit aren't EEPROMs. They must be NOS. -- moto |
Ral-Clan Posts:1979 | January 11, 2007, 02:27:45 PM I'm glad there's still stores providing ROMs to upgrade our Amigas. I wonder though, how are these liscenced and produced nowadays? It seems most of the ones being sold are EEPROMs, not true ROMS as Commodore once produced. So how does it work? Do the dealers buy a lisence from Amiga Inc. to produce burned copies of the ROMs, or is Amiga Inc. still making their own in small batches, or are these new-old-stock from the ESCOM days? |
skurk Posts:929 | January 11, 2007, 11:41:21 AM I ordered 3.1 ROMs from a local computer store specialized in Amigas (I'm not going to point my finger and name names) October 15th. On December 19th - two months later - they couldn't even supply me with a frickin' delivery date. So I cancelled the order and purchased the ROMs at Amigakit. Two weeks later they were mounted in my A4000. Guess where I'll place my next order? ![]() |
