Description: I like keep my A1200 hardware in the original desktop case but I was very worried about the high temperature of the CPU (Blizzard 1260). So I've installed an external fan just under the 68060... it works great! I've taken the ground and the +12V signals directly from the floppy connector (using two male "faston" connectors). Agafaster Posts:1175 | October 16, 2007, 05:14:50 PM I guess then you could use a peltier device ? might need a beefy PSU though. |
rkauer Posts:3263 | February 04, 2007, 06:11:59 PM On my 1200 I put a notebook fan inside the case, rigth on the side of the floppy drive, glue a piece of plastic to direct the air flow to the CPU and memory SIMM (goes hot :madashell: , too). :-D In the CPU I put a peecee nothbridge cooler (glued with 3M thermal tape). The only flaw of the project is the 1200 is a bit noysy now. :-( |

HellCoder Posts:279 | July 18, 2006, 09:58:46 AM If you're blowing air INTO the case, then no air can leave it easily. If you blow air to the CPU with an angle you'll have a better air flow. |
starf81 Posts:332 ![]() | July 17, 2006, 07:21:35 PM @ HellCoder Sorry, I don't understand what do you mean... :-? Actually it already blows air directly to the processor  |
HellCoder Posts:279 | July 16, 2006, 07:32:47 PM Perhaps you can tilt the fan a little so that it will blow air over the processor instead of in ? |

Amigaz Posts:1959 | July 16, 2006, 08:50:56 AM High temp of a 1260? :-? always felt they are the coolest running Amiga accelerator Anyway, nice practical solution ;-) |
