Now we have a solution for the yellowing problem!

 It is called "peroxide"! :-D

 It worked for me! Look!

I was more fortunate.  The first computer I was exposed to in elementary school was the TI-99.  Everything after that was Apple ][, ][+, ][e, ][gs, and weird Apple clones.
Of course, I was very unforunate in that all the other schools had VIC-20's and C64's!!

What a strange keyboard layout, especially the cursor keys... What were the designers thinking??!  :-)

If you examine the picture in old-computers.com, in original, keys one the sides were white while center keys were light gray.

Not so weird... Those keys are not standard keys so is not from the same batch of keys and probably not even same factory... so differnet materials have most likely been used.

Very weird that the keys in the centre are still pristine whie the ones to the sides and the case are so brown.
