KS Campaign: New Compatible Keycaps for all Amiga Classic keyboards

Dear Amigans,

            The Team and I are honored to announce our next KS campaign  after the previous one for the A1200 cases has been launched yesterday  afternoon.

We've been waiting for cases mass production to start so that we could unveil what we were working on for quite some time now!

I also would like to share my personal thanks here to some key people  who  helped a lot to bring this new campaign alive and make it  possible:
-   Bill/Josh/Marcel/Feub/Kay/Sekea/Henrik/Grace/Gwen/Eric/Marc/Charlie/Paul/Angela/Jerry/Marvin/Seppo/Ramon/Allister/Lukhash/Oliver   (x2) Etc...

There is so many awesome ppl out there who love the Amiga and the retro scene! Kudo guys!

I live & work in SG.
Previous campaign was held by me and Friends in France while i had  extended vacations there. That's explain why it was in € previously.

Campaign informations:
This new campaign has been tough to set up due to the fact that it is necessary to create specific keycaps molds.
And for this fullset we need 18 of them (as much as  profiles)

Have a look at Fullset details:

• Each Sets contains 108x keycaps
• Each Sets contains 12x extra keycaps (96+12=10 for compatibility purpose.
  
• Sets are compatible with ISO & ANSI Keyboards
  
• Compatible with A500/A600/A1200/A2000/A3000/A4000/CDTV keyboards. Incompatible with A1000.
  
• Keycaps are compatible with Mitsumi Hybrid Switches only.
  
• Each Sets contains 100x Springs.
• Sets also contains 16x replacement plastic clips
• Regular color sets available to match New case colors
• Special  Edition color sets available to match SE case colors.

 These Sets are limited to the campaign and have been designed by our partners.

• Several Keyboards Layout are available. (No Klingon yet...)

Let me share with you the Latest Updates regarding the Keycaps Kickstarter Campaign

• For Each One of your Keycaps Fullsets: You can now separately chose Special Keys color and Regular Keys color.
  
• Each backer will receive a Keycaps Removal Tool in their parcel. So no worries about scratching or breaking your current keycaps
  
• New Photo Albums have been added to our FB Page, even with some never released photos.
  
• The first LIVE STREAM REPLAY is fully available on A1200.NET Youtube channel. You can browse through questions & answers using the MENU in video comment.
  
• New photos & videos to be published soon (Case production)

I'm a big fan of Kickstarter and backer of the first project, but just as a skeptic and a realist, shouldn't you at least wait for the first one to actually deliver on some product before starting a second?

Love these new cases! I think the see-through one is looking especially attractive but would settle for the original white/beige.

I only have a basic understanding of how Kickstarters work. When you mention that people will be receiving them soon, you mean those who have contributed to the campaign, right?

Will they be available at some point for new orders for those who have not contributed?

Yes, backers of the kickstarter will receive theirs soon.

The plan is however that amigastore.eu will act as the future distributor of new cases.

The special edition cases will be unique and not produced again.

However, there might be one or two more special editions becoming available in 2017, again, through amigastore.eu.

One more thing .. if you join the new keycaps campaign https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/a1200housing/new-compatible-keycaps-for-amiga-computers you will have access to a dark grey (CD32 color) case becoming available in 2017 also. This color again will only be available for backers of the new keycaps campaign.

I reckon the pick of the bunch is the black case with black keys.

Second I'd go for the white on white, then the CD32 version - marvellous...

But first I need to find an A1200 - I sold mine years ago!

I ordered a couple of the cases, thinking about it now I'll probably just put them up on ebay at cost, if they ever arrive. Don't have enough time for the Amiga's I already own, let alone time to build more.

$75 for a set of new keycaps... am I reading that right or does that include the A1200 case too? None of my keys are that bad to warrant such an expense. Can purchase an entire keyboard for less than that anyway. What I could use though are nicer A2000 keyboard shells as mine are starting to yellow. May just have to try a Retrobrite concoction on 'em.
