What ultimately happened to Back to the Roots?
« on: September 07, 2017, 03:06:12 PM »
The "Is LemonAmiga.com gone?" thread reminded me of BTTR. I know it's been offline for ages, but I wasn't following any of the news on its disappearance just after it happened. Is it gone for good, or did someone re-host it somewhere?

I noticed right after it happened. Amigakit offered to host it but the owner was not to be found. If I had the room I would have cloned it from the way back machine as it was still there.

My mistake...I scanned the first sentence and went right to lemonamiga instead.  Sorry, Mike, to have caused you such mental anguish.

Would be quite unfortunate if the site really is lost. Good that at least some of it made it onto the Wayback Machine, but there are definite gaps in the Fred Fish archive.

BTTR is off TWM for a long time, I doubt anyone got a copy of it at all. It went fast.....

I thought the whole point of the Wayback Machine was that they didn't purge things from their archive? Am I missing something? Even now I can get to some of the pages, although I haven't tried any files.

A fellow EAB member just uploaded the probably last snapshot of the BTTR file server to Archive.org. :)

http://eab.abime.net/showthread.php?t=104159

Please use the torrents, if possible. :D
Please seed, and leave a thanx to 'Debvgger' over there at EAB and consider donating to Archive.org. :)
