SCSI2SD+microSD bundles in stock and ready to ship from USA
« on: September 25, 2015, 05:49:49 PM »
Hi folks,

I recently coordinated with Michael McMaster, SCSI2SD creator, and together, we completed the largest factory production run of compact 3.5" SCSI2SD adapters to date. I have two rev 5.0a bundle options available for sale and shipment from the US immediately.

SCSI2SD with 4GB Panasonic PE-series SLC-lite microSD card $85

SCSI2SD with 8GB SanDisk consumer-grade microSD card $75*

SCSI2SD with 256MB True Industrial Grade Single-level Cell microSD card $65*

* 10% of sale proceeds for these items go to USA for UNHCR, which builds support within the U.S. for the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), which provides protection and assistance to over 20 million displaced people around the world, who have been forced to flee due to persecution or war.

For users of Amiga.org and other Amiga forums, a $5/SCSI2SD adapter multiple-item discount is available, as is combined shipping; Just submit a best offer and include your forum handle as well as the name of the forum.

Great, looks like a good product.

Any chance there will be an ultra scsi for the Cyberstorm's?

Not to ask a dumb question, but is there any software necessary to make this work or is it literally plug and play in my Amiga 3000?

It looks promising.  I'd like more info about Amiga use and compatibility, a practical example od an Amiga booting from this.

This link, Codesrc's SCSI2SD page, from their ebay page would not load in my browsier.

I wonder how well that'd work with say An Atari Mega STe or Atari TT030?  I don't have SCSI in my Amiga, that's why I'm asking... if I had more PCI slots, I could put one in, but it won't boot off the PCI bus, so there wasn't any point for me.

There is a config tool for Windows/Mac/Linux (the board connects via USB), but I think you only need that if you want to do something fancy or upgrade the firmware. I have two of these boards and just upgraded the firmware in them last night - a bit tricky since I couldn't get the Mac utility to work and ended up having to use the Windows version via a Parallels VM, which didn't behave all that well. Got the job done, though, but I have yet to find the time to actually give these a try in my Amigas!

The developer's homepage is http://www.codesrc.com/mediawiki/index.php?title=SCSI2SD

EDIT: @ aperez

Kudos for offering a listing that benefits UNHCR - I just sent them a check last week.

The current SCSI2SD works on the Cyberstorm. If you're asking if there will be a more-performant version in the future, then the answer is a definite "maybe".

There are people using them in the Atari community. The device just speaks SCSI. There is no OS support of any kind required. These work with classic Macs, VAXstations, NeXTstations, you name it. The SCSI2SD has existed for years, and has been tested by a large number of people in a large number of contexts. Just do a simple search, and your questions as to "is it compatible with $foo" will almost surely be answered.

While I don't use one with any of my Amigas, I have used one for the last year with my x68000 XVI. Works fantastic.

If you buy more than 1, you get a $5 discount.

Hope that helps :)

Yes, absolutely. Your amiga cannot tell this isn't a 30 year old SCSI hard drive =] If your SCSI controller is bootable, you're good.

Got mine yesterday and it's already installed.  Works great in my GVP A530.  The biggest problem was remembering how to install Workbench 2.04 on a hard drive.
Amiga 500 GVP A530 Accel + SCSI2SD + 8 MB RAM and OS 2.04
Amiga 1200 GVP \\\'030 Accel + 32 MB RAM and OS 3.9 BB3
Amiga 4000 Cybervision 64/3D Mk-II + Warp Engine 4040 128 MB RAM and OS 3.9 BB3
Micro A1 866 Mhz and AmigaOS 4.1
PowerMac G4 1.4 Ghz and MorphOS 3.9
Mac Mini G4 1.5 Ghz and MorphOS 3.9

so if I plug this into the side of my Amiga 1000 and use kick1.3 I can autoboot directly into workbench and it'll pick up the extra memory and scsi controller in the attached side cars??
