Nightlong
« on: July 12, 2007, 08:16:40 PM »
I recently received a new nightlong Cd pack. I installed but the game does not load. It states that the screen resolution must be supported. Does anyone know what the supported screen modes are and does it support both picasso 96 and cybergraphix? thanks

Yeah I have the updates, doesn't appear to do anything when you click the game icon to load. No requester, not anything.

Use SnoopDos to find out where it's failing.

Also, there's a mastering error on most of the discs that results in all the filenames being truncated to 8.3 with some CD filesystems. Make sure this isn't happening.

The disc also needs to be in the drive to play, and it must be called Q:. CacheCDFS can't handle volume names less than three characters, so just assign Q: to your CD drive as a workaround.

I think I managed to work around that by copying all 3 CD's to a directory on HD and assigning Q: to that dir.

Hey, good idea. I might actually play the game if I don't have to dig out the CDs every time...

I have the same annoying problem having to assign the CD every time. Do you know what file system can read the CD correctly as Q?  :-?

I have the cd's but there's that duplication error on the cd's that makes it impossible to play the game. A friend sent me properly burnt cd's but it seems like I lost them. I wonder if Clickboom would replace my original cd's if I sent them.

I think it was asimcdfs that could read the less than 3 characters cd names.

You don't need to do it every time. Just add the following line into your user-startup and you are done once and for all:

assign Q: Unnamed: path
