"iGame is a MUI based frontend for launching and managing whdload games."

I would say judging by that comment from the website it's a no, but there's no harm in trying I suppose. Worst case scenario would be, it simply refuses to run without MUI.

Why not use Mui ?! And iGame rules! Props to the author, great work.

It's been awhile since I used my amiga, but if i can remember the only issue was making all those little images for the games (which itself is'nt a biggy). Is there a generic image pack?

Get a grip dude!

The unregistered version of MUI works fine without any nag requestors. MUI gives programmers an easier way to make GUIs and many applications use it.

If you don't like and don't want to use it then it's your problem I guess...

Try Zune from AfA OS instead, it is at least Freeware.

Is it backwards compatible with an MUI app?

This is so lame, he calls himself A1260, seems like he got a 060.. 060 + AGA is no problem for MUI..

Get a grip dude.

The only thing wrong with iGame is that it doesnt cache the sort results, it makes it very slow.

Hi. I'm stuck.

I'd like to try out iGame but I'm having difficulty getting it going.

- I'm running os 3.5 on winUAE 1.4.5.
- I installed the MUI demo version

When I click on iGame, I get the following error: "Can't create app. Make sure all the MUI mcc's are present, please check the included guide."

So I checked the guide and installed the following files:
- guigfx.library
- render.library
- guigfx.mcc
- texteditor.mcc

Along the way, a readme also mentioned betterstring.mcc and hotkeystring.mcc which I installed.

Well, it still doesn't work. It's late...Might be something stupid I'm overlooking...

Any ideas?

Thanx

Hi Fester,

Check pls that the igame.iff file is in the same folder as the iGame executable. Check with snoopdos to see if it finds everything it needs.

@All

Thanks for your kind words, hope you enjoy it!  :-)

Hi MrZammler,

Thanks for your response.

The igame.iff is in the same folder as the igame file. The lis t is as follows:

icons (dir)
icons.info
igame.guide
igame.iff
igame
igame.guide.info
igame.info
update_titles

The snoopdos log is viewable here. (http://diogenese.typepad.com/igamesd.txt)

The log only includes activity logged when I click the igame icon.

@ Fester

Well I don't really know about running such on winUAE (genuine A1200 owner here) but you can try the following ...

Make sure the iGame drawer is on your hard drive, not the just the contents or it won't work. I think from what I've read, the program actively seeks the iGame folder [PROGDIR:] to store stuff in and it will throw up such an error thaty you are experiencing.

Good luck!  :-)

Eureka!

I had overlooked the guigfx library. I thought it was installed, but it wasn't.

My iGame works now.

@Fester

Ah, nice to hear

@alexh

Hmm, do you also find 1.4 slow? It should be faster than before; On my 030 1200 with ~2900 games it doesnt win any speed records, but it's ok I guess (i.e. usable).

There may be a few tricks to speed it up more in later versions I guess...

I used iGame on my a1200 at the last retrovision, and will have an a1200 setup with it again at this years

http://www.retrovision.org.uk/

Ill have to get the newest version on there too. The older one could be a bit slow as it resorted "as you type", but its still a damn sight faster than workbench (with the 2200 or so whdloads i got installed).

Thanks for an excellent program.

Umm.. I'm having trouble with iGame too. I have installed MUI, guigfx.library and render.library.

I can't seem to find a copy of guigfx.mcc & texteditor.mcc. Also, what folders do I copy these to??

These files are MUI classes.

http://aminet.net/package/dev/mui/MCC_Guigfx
http://sourceforge.net/projects/texteditor-mcc/

Both classes have installer scripts so they are copied to the right place.

Thanks Lizard but texteditor does not have an installer. Tried to install manually but still getting the same error message: "can't create app. Make sure all the required MUI mcc's are present, please check the included guide"
