Well, here's one thing to note:

The diagonal line in the second (area: 65) shape isn't straight. The gradient of the slanted side of the four-sided pieces is +/-0.4, while the gradient of the hypotenuse of the triangular pieces is +/-0.375.

The second figure is a lie, the pieces do not fit.

The second diagram fails to show the whitespace present when the pieces are arranged that way, there's exactly 1 square of whitespace between the pieces where they don't fit flush against the angles.
