It let me upload the png original over the at-some-point-previously resized, shrivelled up jpeg :)

:-D Quite an enthusiastic response. Something tells me that my alternative "Workboot" backdrop, featuring a sweaty old steel-toecap might not have been so popular :lol:

There's a definate, if unintentional, overdose of wankerishness (tm - lorddef?) in there

Heh, keep using it, we'll get a dictionary entry :)

[edit] ... and the pictures on my bw at the moment too.

@haymiggan

I think rainboot is your best bet.

Actually, back in the old days, I used to use multiview in my startup-sequence to open a picture fullscreen (after starting arexx), giving it a named arexx port in the process.

Then, after loadwb was called (and before endcli) I'd execute a small arexx command to tell the multiview to close down.

Always worked for me :-)

Incidentally, I should point out that I probably wouldn't have made this image had Patrik not sent me a grab of the original bootscreen image, so some of the credit goes to him :-)

@leirbag28

I have a 704x460 image here now, scanlines intact. Unfortunately the startup script font looks a little awry, I think it was designed for 4:3 aspect only...

I can mail it to you anyway...

Can you make a 704 x 460 version of this image without shrinking the original..I want those scanlines to still appear :-)

Ths image is an absolute MASTERPIECE!!!!  WOW!

I love this!  gonna make it my official bootscreen! I make rainboot like boot up sequences using SCALA MM300 and this is definitely gonna go in as my new boot up!

Blimey! When have you seen me first thing in the morning to know that? :lol:

I put it in brackets, but it still scans as

"Having grown weary ...blah... I, Karlos (insert self aggrandizing hyperbolae here), saved the day by...etc."

There's a definate, if unintentional, overdose of wankerishness (tm - lorddef?) in there :-D

Oh well...

Yeah, I put my name at the end of my images too. Gotta take the credit! ;-)

...and how many of us with hard drives and graphic cards have had the opportunity to appreciate the 'insert disk' screen lately?

:-D

-edit-

Just re-read the image description I wrote. The " I (Karlos) " bit makes me look a right tosser! :lol:

I added it because you never see the name of the submitter of an image, but should have put it at the end or something...
