Description: Having gotten a bit tired of endless boing themed amiga backdrops, I decided to go for something a bit more old fashioned...

Karlos Posts:16867 | May 28, 2009, 05:26:48 PM It let me upload the png original over the at-some-point-previously resized, shrivelled up jpeg |
Karlos Posts:16867 | October 24, 2006, 02:00:37 PM I'm sure this image was bigger when I submitted it  |

Dalamar Posts:190 | February 10, 2004, 12:20:44 AM Neato. I've got it on my laptop. :-D |
that_punk_guy Posts:4526 | February 09, 2004, 04:35:44 PM More! More!! :-) |
Karlos Posts:16867 | February 09, 2004, 02:59:34 PM :-D Quite an enthusiastic response. Something tells me that my alternative "Workboot" backdrop, featuring a sweaty old steel-toecap might not have been so popular  |
xeron Posts:2533 | February 09, 2004, 12:26:48 PM Heh... its now my workbench backdrop on my A1 ;-) |
Vincent Posts:3895 | February 08, 2004, 04:46:27 PM Fantastic pic :-D Wankerishness - Gotta remember that one :-D |
lorddef Posts:1139 | February 08, 2004, 02:05:16 PM Quote There's a definate, if unintentional, overdose of wankerishness (tm - lorddef?) in there Heh, keep using it, we'll get a dictionary entry [edit] ... and the pictures on my bw at the moment too. |
Karlos Posts:16867 | February 08, 2004, 10:57:43 AM @haymiggan I think rainboot is your best bet. Actually, back in the old days, I used to use multiview in my startup-sequence to open a picture fullscreen (after starting arexx), giving it a named arexx port in the process. Then, after loadwb was called (and before endcli) I'd execute a small arexx command to tell the multiview to close down. Always worked for me :-) |
haymiggan Posts:215 | February 08, 2004, 09:40:33 AM Wow, i forgot that screen even existed ultra super cool picture... now... i just need to find the best way to display it when my amiga is booting, what's your recommendation? |
Karlos Posts:16867 | February 08, 2004, 03:40:11 AM Incidentally, I should point out that I probably wouldn't have made this image had Patrik not sent me a grab of the original bootscreen image, so some of the credit goes to him :-) |
leirbag28 Posts:1793 | February 08, 2004, 03:16:51 AM ok, I just sent you my email address in your amigaorg Pmail box |
Karlos Posts:16867 | February 08, 2004, 03:12:32 AM @leirbag28 I have a 704x460 image here now, scanlines intact. Unfortunately the startup script font looks a little awry, I think it was designed for 4:3 aspect only... I can mail it to you anyway... |
leirbag28 Posts:1793 | February 08, 2004, 02:55:08 AM Can you make a 704 x 460 version of this image without shrinking the original..I want those scanlines to still appear :-) |
leirbag28 Posts:1793 | February 08, 2004, 02:51:51 AM Ths image is an absolute MASTERPIECE!!!! WOW! I love this! gonna make it my official bootscreen! I make rainboot like boot up sequences using SCALA MM300 and this is definitely gonna go in as my new boot up! |
Karlos Posts:16867 | February 08, 2004, 02:50:11 AM Quote
Blimey! When have you seen me first thing in the morning to know that? I put it in brackets, but it still scans as "Having grown weary ...blah... I, Karlos (insert self aggrandizing hyperbolae here), saved the day by...etc." There's a definate, if unintentional, overdose of wankerishness (tm - lorddef?) in there :-D Oh well... |
that_punk_guy Posts:4526 | February 08, 2004, 02:39:27 AM Oh, very nice work by the way :-D Yeah, I put my name at the end of my images too. Gotta take the credit! ;-) |
that_punk_guy Posts:4526 | February 08, 2004, 02:38:04 AM I Karlos, You Jane ;-) |
Karlos Posts:16867 | February 08, 2004, 01:36:11 AM ...and how many of us with hard drives and graphic cards have had the opportunity to appreciate the 'insert disk' screen lately? :-D -edit- Just re-read the image description I wrote. The " I (Karlos) " bit makes me look a right tosser! I added it because you never see the name of the submitter of an image, but should have put it at the end or something... |
