Dracocéphalum Elementalis Rex - Great Grey Sentient Dragon
Dracocéphalum Elementalis Rex - Great Grey Sentient Dragon
Previous Image | Next Image
Description: This is an conceptual sketch of an dragon project
I've been working on, aiming to create the
Dracocéphalum Elementalis Rex, a  "physically
realistic" dragon, still fitting in with the most
common myths and lore. It's intended to eventually
be used in a novel project.

This picture shows the three-meter head of the
dragon, showing the externally mounted teeth in a
two-by-on scissor mount. Also note the nose slit
hidden near the end of the skull and the beginning
of the head-plate just behind the eyes.

Coincidentally, this is a variation of my avatar
image.

@JaX

I would be very interested in this "flight of dragons". It
seems they have worked along the same line of
thought as I, actually. The only reason this massive
colossus would ever be able to fly is due to hyrogen
production and the filling of "flying sacks".

Have you read 'The Flight of Dragons'?
It's a gloriously illustrated book with lots of illustrations like yours and goes into fine detail as to how dragons:

1.Were able to fly
2.Breath fire (Both down to hydrogen apparently)
3.etc, etc.

Worth looking up if you're really into dragonlore.

I'll check the details if you want.

Cheers,

JaX

Weird. I added a full body-shot of the dragon before
this picture, and yet it hasn't appeared. It's a 1020x721
image 58909 bytes large, so it should be OK ...?
:-?
