Description: I made this picture on my amiga using photogenics 4.4 and tvpaint. The picture was used in the amigappc-demo called kheshkhash released at mekka symposium 2002. The demo was a coop-production between Encore and Scenic. fusko^scenic -aka- Torgeir Vee Picture Stats: Views: 3293 Filesize: 21.76kB Height: 768 Width: 1024 Posted by: Kees at August 12, 2003, 09:56:58 PM Image Linking Codes

Methuselas Posts:2205 | January 19, 2004, 11:26:34 PM Quote Yeah, the strokes are funky. The stroke order on the hyaku and kuruma (bottom character in the previous picture, means car) looks fudged and backwards. But, that might just be how it looks when you do the fancy caligraphy with the big honkin' paint brush, so I won't complain too much. Well, in mandarin, it's common to use flowing strokes like that. It makes it look pretty, but to students of the language, like myself, it makes it difficult to read. To a native speaker, however, they know exactly what it is. Quote The top characters in both pictures are really funky. I give up on figuring out what they are supposed to be. Yeah, short of asking my Sifu, I wouldn't have an answer. Then again, he doesn't speak Japanese, so.... :-P |
weirdami Posts:3776 | December 22, 2003, 03:31:18 AM Quote Her skin's pretty dark. She looks more chinese, 'cos of the eyes, but because of the skin, she looks cambodian. Maybe she's mixed. She looks more like an indian. Not because of the spiky hair, though that does help. Indian-looking still describes her when you block out her hair and just look at her face. This only applies to this picture, not the first one. Quote I still can't read the top one, though. It's hard to read the brush strokes Yeah, the strokes are funky. Methuselas Posts:2205 | December 12, 2003, 07:27:54 AM Quote The lower one is Hyaku, one hundred. I don't recognize the upper one, and couldn't find it in any of my dictionaries. I can't translate the japanese character on top, but Q is correct on the bottom one. The (original) chinese character is yi2 bai3. yi2 is 'one' and bai3 means 'white'. The top stroke is 'yi2' and the bottom zi, which looks like an enclosed H is 'bai3'. I'd show you how to write it, but I can't do it in ascii. =^\ I still can't read the top one, though. It's hard to read the brush strokes. Her skin's pretty dark. She looks more chinese, 'cos of the eyes, but because of the skin, she looks cambodian. Maybe she's mixed. |

Hi, not to detract from your artwork, but that reminds me of how the kids around here put the Japanese signs all over their rice-rocket Honda Civics, never knowing what they mean. It could be vile insults for all they know, but they think it makes them K00L. :-? :-? |
