IDE harddisk WinUAE and SCSI - IDE bridge
« on: October 10, 2008, 03:46:17 PM »
Situation: I have an 80GB IDE harddisk and an A2500 with a SCSI controller.

Question: if I install the drive under WinUAE (with SFS, Workbench and whatnot), and then put the drive in the A2500 with an Acard SCSI-IDE bridge, will that work straightaway (providing the SCSI IDs and termination are set up properly), or do I need to do something more?

I did exactly that with me A4000.  Prepped the IDE drive in WinUAE, then transfered it to the CSMK3 (with Acard SCSIDE).  However, I would suggest doing the initial partitioning in the A2500.  That way you don't create something that WinUAE can use, but the A2500 can't.
