I still lurk, but interesting threads are far and few between. Coffeehouse seems clinically dead.

Yes a lot less drama, but traffic has dropped by as much in my eyes.

Also only saw this thread because of Kesa's thread which does show up on the main page.

Sold all my miggy stuff when I moved country a few years back.

O/T eyup TPG! Good to see you still alive.

I'm surprised that -- after 3 or so days -- I only got two responses.  Glad to get them, but it's rather telling.

As for me, I probably haven't physically laid eyes on an Amiga in what... a decade now (when was the last, good Amiga show?)...  I've tried the emulators a few times, but just can't figure out a single thing that I actually want to do with them.

It's kind of like loading Parallels on my Mac to run PC software.  Useless if you don't need to run any Windows software..

Since selling AO to BillP all those years ago (time flies), computers in general, and indeed, even my Web sites have taken a real back seat to everything else.  Moving from Alabama to Virginia and then to the D.C. area has provided somewhat of a culture shock and I just really don't have the time to focus on computers as I did when I was 20 and working as a low-end support geek.

That being said, to those of you who have been around long enough to remember me, I wish you well.  To those of you "youngsters" who've arrived since I left, let me say "welcome"...

Last I heard, you guys were planning to update the site to something else.  Maybe Trevor will actually do something with Amiga.org some day, before it's too late to transition to anything newer...

I guess I could always offer him a couple hundred bucks for the site to see if I could revamp it..  :)

Wayne

so much less fighting cause so much less traffic.  Hardly any of the old school seem to post anymore.  Just lurk like me.

I must be honest spend more time at EAB these days as so much more active.

But good to hear from you dude.   I can never leave this site.  Been here for getting on for two decades now its a home from home.

Hey Wayne! Good to see you are still around, real life has absorbed any Amiga time I once had. But as you can see from my signature, I still produce some Amiga related software :)

Hi 'ya Wayne, glad you're still around! Still here too and still boot and play around with my Amigas relatively often. 2-3 systems up and running at any given time and have been supporting some of Jens' products as of late. Only passively keep one eye out here anymore as there's no longer a lot of buying/selling/trading going on. And *still* not into emulation or the 4.x systems. Legacy or bust for me!    :)

Thanks for the replies guys.  Good to see some names I remember...

I don't miss the drama but I do miss the good old days and having a hobby to really sink myself into back before the Web really took off.  These days there aren't any niches left (or really, good domains) to fill.  Every little hobby, niche, or kink has a dozen sites dedicated to it, and I'm too old to fight for an audience, even if I had a great idea and was totally into whatever that might be...

In retrospect speaking of domain names, I have to wonder if Amiga.org would have survived as long as it has -- as diminished as it currently is -- if we hadn't been able to secure the Amiga.org domain name itself.

It saddens me that the following owners have literally done nothing with it except let it die in almost a decade now.. :(

Peace, Love, and Lollipops...

I keep an eye on a couple Amiga boards in case any new developments develop.

I also use WinUAE to play some classic games from time to time. I most like the 2 simultaneous player games like Pang, Bubble Bobble, Ikari Warriors etc, that i can play with my sons.

Whenever WHDLoad installs for a new game come out i'll play that game for a while. But most of the new WHDLoad installs are for Demos. Been along time since i've run any demos, and even when i did i rarely ever watched one more then once.

I want to get an A.L.I.C.E. if it ever sees the light of day.

Hi guys,

You guys still enjoying the Amiga?

Wayne

Short answer: YES!

I've still got the Deluxe Paint bug and particularly like exploring 256 colour animation and the ability to produce something to sync with music either with Scala or more likely iMovie on the Mac. The program is quite simply FUN, FUN, FUN! Even when I'm trying to overcome the technical limitations it is actually a fun challenging project rather than an infuriating frustrating pain in the bottom like with most PC and Mac programs. I tolerate Photoshop and respect its power and I'd go as far as to say that I like both iMovie and iDVD from Apple but I simply love Deluxe Paint V and my classic Amiga :)

Thanks for your involvement in this site in the past. Do you miss classic Amiga hardware?

I dont post as much these days but read almost every day. I feel the forum have shifted slightly towards what aw.net was back then with less classic stuff and more os4 related stuff.

I liked it better then

Doing fine, thanks for asking.

Looking forward to see Amiga.org and Amigaworld.net merged.
