This week on 10 Minute Amiga Retro Cast I am reviewing the brand new 23 Pin RGB to Component adapter usable on any Amiga. This adapter from retronicdesign.com will let you hook up to many LCD Televisions that support 240P displays and give you some of the nicest colors I have seen on an Amiga outside a 1084 monitor - and that says a lot!

Hi Doug,

Could you please have the author of the compatibility chart take a look at one entry I noticed?

the list

Under the listing for Sceptre I see the only instance of "pass" being written with a "red" background, that otherwise seems to be reserved for "fail". So, at present I'm not sure what the status is for this one.

For those unacquainted with Sceptre, they have rather extensive circuitry which is helpful for those with older equipment as well as new. Although it will vary with model and one should always read about circuitry prior to purchase, the norm for me has been:

3 HDMI, VGA, Composite, and Component inputs, all switchable of course from remote. They also work perfectly with cheap displayport to HDMI cabling (no adaptor purchase required). With so many recent tv/monitors confined to HDMI inputs only, these are worthy of investigation by those with older equipment, imo.

Heh. No, this is not an ad. I just know these sets are always and currently available and I meet many older users who require more extensive input options than are usually available these days. Hope the info helps.

This week on 10 Minute Amiga Retro Cast I am reviewing the "Retrotink 2x" video upscaler - It can work on any Amiga with the RGB to Component converter I reviewed last week, and also works amazingly well with the VIC-20, C64 and C128! (And pretty much any retro console with Composite, S-Video or Component) - Take a peek!

Yep. That is my Oktagon 8 MB and SCSI controller. It is I stable in my Checkmate with the Zorro II adapter for the A500 board. It works perfect with my A2091 controller, but then I miss my 8 MB memory.

This week on 10 Minute Amiga Retro Cast I am going to be comparing the lovely AGA Graphics of the Amiga and comparing them to the original PC VGA and SVGA graphics. Guess who wins?

Special thanks to John "Boatofcar" Shawler for the motivation to make this video!
