Has anyone bought anything from amigakit.com before?
« on: February 20, 2008, 01:59:39 PM »
Hi! I'm thinking of ordering an A1200 from amigakit.com. Does anyone have any prior shopping experience with them? Where are they located? Is it true what they claim that they have brand new unused A1200s? (I've written them to ask as well.)

Thanks!

Yeah they are pretty good. Not the cheapest place but if you need it and they have it, you can rely on them.

I've ordered a few things at Amigakit (they're located in the UK) and they're just perfect, and I believe there are dozens of people here on amiga.org who can agree with me.

If I need anything Amiga that I can't find elsewhere, I'll just order it from them without any hesitation. Big kudos for Amigakit!

And I believe the A1200s are refurbished ones (but in good shape), I could be wrong though.

They are located in cardiff in the UK, I`ve purchased a few items from them recently and have found the service to be quick and emails to of been answered swiftly and politely. As for new old stock A1200s I`ve noted some users from here who have made purchases and been happy with them.
Rediscovered that Amiga companionship :)

Awesome. Thanks for the feedback!

About refurbished: on their A1200 ordering page, they let you choose between new or refurbished, so I'm led to believe they have new ones. Or, they have the choice there *in case* they have new ones, but will substitute with refurbished if necessary.

Either way, I'm going to try.

Are any of you from the USA? If so, how long did it take between ordering and receipt of package?

I had a problem with a recent purchase - not Amigakits fault - but they soon sorted it out and I was a happy boy again and could play with my new toy  8-)

I've bought from Amigakit several times and had the items shipped here to the US.  I have never bought something as big as a computer though.  Mostly magazines, batteries, etc.  It has always come in a timely manner.  I would say under 2 weeks.  A couple of times around a week or just over.  Not really much difference from ordering from here in the US and going Parcel Post.  Hope this helped.

Order with "closed" eyes. They are perfect. As for the "New Old" stock of A1200s, I think that they are brand new Amigas, because they took them from the stock of Eyetech (before close down), if I am right. They have also very reasonable P&P (well, to my country, Greece)!

Nah, here in Holland we know the expression as well. If the Britains don't know it - well, they're pretty much isolated anyway
